YEAH!
I can commend the cubs.... an 8 game losing streak is a very difficult task to accomplish. I want to see them hit 10!!
too bad ... Here comes a 10 game streak in the other direction!

Rolleyes Rocco I don't think you can just pull things out of the air like that.... after all the only have a few more wins than that the entire season right now. Heck they should be aiming for .500. LoL

i read the first line and thought ok maybe the sox fans have finally stopped putting down a fellow chicago team then I read the entire thing and wasnt suprise. Typical sox fan, typical crap, I wouldnt expect anything more from a sox fan. At least the cubs fans were decent people and congradulated the sox on there year last year. After you guys started going way downhill after the allstar game nobody put them down. But why would I expect a retarded dog to quit licking himself to make himself feel good. Same thing goes for the sox fans i guess, or should I say so called sox fans. When they lose im sure they will be cheering the yankee's or something.
Mich, maybe you and I are the exception to the rule as Cubs fans. But I know alot of people my mother-in-law for one who rooted for the Astros, and damned the White Sox. We have Cubs fans just as bad as White Sox fans when it comes down to the rivalry.
ya every rivalry team does. I was just hoping they werent on this message board. Not downing anyone just tired of all this petty drama

apperently you know even less about baseball than i thought you did... 10 game winning streaks are rare but not that difficult to pull off...
The longest winning streaks (consecutive games) in baseball are as follows:

1880 Chicago White Stockings(Cubs) 20 won / 0 Tied / 11 at home
1884 St. Louis Maroons 20 Won / 0 Tied / 16 at home
1884 Providence Grays 20 Won / 0 Tied / 18 at home
1916 New York Giants 26 Won / 1 Tied / 26 at home
1935 Chicago Cubs 20 won / 0 Tied / 18 at home
2002 Oakland Athletics 20 won / 0 Tied / 10 at home
hmmm where are the whitesox on that list....oh ya thats right in those days they were too busy moving the fence around to worry about a winning streak Wink
Well all i can say is im glad that that steriod shootin jagoff didnt him one off of our struggling pitching...
im just glad that they..... ummmmmm well im not proud of anything they've done, lost 8 in a row, win, and then lose again

that's why im a south sider
why ??? Cant be a fan of a struggling team? Maybe you should be a Yankees fan then... Cuz buddy, the soxs were very much once just like the cubs....
I underdstand where you guys are saying that you can't be a supporter of a winning team. I like the Bears, even though they suck. And I don't deny that they don't some of the Cub's fans get on my nerves when the Cubs could be in last place and they will insist that they are the best. Acting like big headed @$$holes.

you mean the cubs were very much like the sox lol
The Cubs haven't been "Very much like the Sox" (Defending World Series Champs) in OVER 100 years... But it wasn't too long ago, that the Sox were struggling to find themselves. Nothing could go right.

Take a lesson from Rocc... Even as much as he can't stand the Sox, he has admitted, that Last year, and SO FAR this year, they seem to have it together. As much as Loves the Cubs, he is willing to admit that they are playing like crap, right now.

It's too early in the season, to raise the flag for the Sox, OR rule out the Cubs. In another Month, the roles could be reversed, and the Cubs will have the big winning streaks, while the Sox are struggling to put 2 wins back to back.

A win here, a loss there, doesn't matter. All that matters is WHO is holding that trophy when all is said and done.
Ryan.... I did not meet one cub fan who was rooting for the sox. All that I heard was on how they were going to choke "just like the cubs did" and the rooted for the other team. Now they are saying they didn't root agains the sox. It is a bunch of bull.

The sox have done it right. That is it. They are the best team in baseball. Still. They are backing up their championship.

Now I have never knocked any cub fan for being a cub fan. I give them chit when they start saying that they are better than the sox and a great team. They are not. They are not and they have no reason to work to become one. If fans will pay to see a team lose why pay more to make the team win??
i do admit the cubs blow donkey balls at this point in the season, but everyone seems to overlook how good the cubs had been around 3 years ago, not to mention many past successes. Yes i know stop living in the past, but the sox had one outstanding year - now going on another - surrounded by a bunch of lack luster performances...they have never been able to string together numerous succesful season until now

As much as I wished it was the Sox a few years back, rather than the Cubs, I was glad to see them having a GREAT season. All of that was put to waste, when, rather than saying "We screwed up, we'll try to come back tomorrow, and get it back.", The Cubs fans (and Team) got so caught up in it being "Bartman's fault", or blaming the "Goat Curse", that the team couldn't get it together to come back and try to win. They couldn't take responsibility for their own mistakes.
+1
yeah, i completely agree

they could have won that game, insted they kept b*tchin about the call and gave up a bunch of runs b/c their heads weren't in it, and then the blew the next game or two
or 3....

Next time you talk about the "Bartman incedent" or the "goat curse" You must put "SOME CUBS FANS!!!!!" That would exlude the intellegent ones!!! I have never bl;amed bartman or the goat! But if you have ever played on a team in that situation you know that one little error or bad call can make it really hard to concentrate the rest of the game! Still they are getting payed millions to be good enough to let it go!!!

Like the F!@#$%^ sox have never done it!!!!

True, I know it wasn't ALL Cubs fans, but it was a Majority of the fans. Just look at the turnout for the "Destroy the Bartman ball" rally they had at the beginning of the next season, and the "Lift the curse" rallies they have had.

I'm just fed up with the excuses that are made when the Cubs lose. Earlier this year, there was a picture in the paper, that showed a few cheerleaders on a Dugout at a Cubs game. The capion said "Could this be the distraction that made the Cubs lose?" After a Sox loss, the coments are "Their bats weren't in the game", "The Pitching couldn't get the job done". "They stranded too many runners", etc.
