10k wins today! Another interesting bit of trivia i found out today is that the cubs franchise record has never been below .500 since day one
When you are a fan of a team that has never won anything in any of our lifetime its crazy what kind of crap excites you.
winning 10k games is a pretty massive achievment. I guess when your team is leading a garbage division by a game you need to try and dump on the best team in baseball

Out of curiosity..... because I really don't know...... How many teams that were around before the Cubs are still playing today?? I just can't help but think if you keep a team around long enough they should eventually reach 10k wins.
On the other hand, they are playing incredibly well right now.

I dont remember seeing this many "sox fans" untill they actually had a playoff run and won a WS. Out of no were they came. Seems kind of like a coincidence from the time they decided to come out and be "dedicated" fans.

We have better things to be proud of, like wins. Where as they don't have that so they have to resort to how some of our fans aren't 'loyal'.
I watched the opening day coverage for the sox on the news, big tradition yadda yadda, so they ask people how many years in a row this was for them. You know what the majority of them answered? 3 yrs in a row, seems like a big phuckin coincidence doesn't it? Didn't hear a peep from the sox fans all the years the team sucked dick and could barely break .500. Just because there are bandwagon fans doesn't mean that there aren't true fans. I'm sure there are a lot of guys who are cub fans to impress some girl but they could give two shits about baseball..... almost the same thing. It doesn't really matter in my mind.

Thats the question. My answer was because the sox never had this many people saying they were fans till the WS.
Or you didn't care to notice?? I highly doubt the bandwagon status is as broad as you make it seem. I'm sure some people bought sox gear and went to games with friends, but I don't think people really went "Oooooo..... Chicago is doing well, I'm a fan now!!!".
