u cant possibly believe that the players dont give a sh*t because their team is making money...I still like to believe that they are in it for the love of the game, and nobody likes to get their ass kicked day in and day out
+1

Czechy... You gotta admit though, there is somthing terribly wrong with our beloved team bro...

Im not saying to stop loving them OR fighting for them... I am sayin i think we need to stop supporting (buyin tickets) them and maybe ... Just maybe this will be the catalyst it takes to get the upper management too see we want a ring too!!!!

Ill never cheer for the south side but i think its time we try and make the N. Side up somthin on the field! Hel, i love wrigley but i cant keep blowing 40 on a ticket and 6 bucks a beer to watch a team that is just missing somthing! I still love the cubs, just not happy.
You both said it perfectly. I don't think it is the PLAYERS that "Don't care", it is the MANAGMENT.... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" roughly seems to equal "If we're making money win OR lose, why waste money to make a winning team?"

I'm not saying that ALL the fans that are filling the stands on the South side are "Life long" fans, but I am willing to bet that a good share of them are. They got fed up with paying to watch a losing team, stopped going to the games, and Managment had to wake up, and realize that in order to get the fans back, they had to spend some cash on some decent players...
I dont think that its all buying better players though... I think there is some serious talent on the cubs... There no guidence , they need a coach! they need hitting coaches and pitching coaches!

I mean honestly... On last years world series team, who outside of the soxs fans had really hear of 75% of the starters... I never heard of a dirt bag long hair named joe crede before... (had to get the jab! LOL sorry!)
I think its taking what you have and making it work and getting the talent you have to blossom into a team. Not just a bunch of good players
True, but the Cubs also sit back and say "Kerry wood will be out savior" or "Lee's bat will save us", and we've all seen how far that carries...

But I see your point. Untill they have some decent managing, all the tallent in the MLB couldn't help. They need someone who won't settle for "OK is good enough."
All I can say is wow. Sox down 7-2 after the first. Great bit of hitting off of Buhrle. You would think that if the other team knew you threw first pitch strike every time you would mix it up a little...... I guess not. Sox have some work to do.
looks like the Cubs have found the left handed batting practice pitcher that thye have been looking for Smile
I can't argue. They hit him hard today.
They deserved that one for sure.
Ahem......
Are we referring to the lack of a reliable starting pitching staff for the Sox?? There is still time my friend. Detroit is just kickin' ass.
You pick....

Hmmm... A fan of the team with the 3rd WORST record in baseball is making fun of a team with the 3rd BEST record in baseball???? lol

It's still too soon to tell. The Sox had a pretty bad slide in the beginning of the first half of the season. They can still pull out of this slump. They only have a couple pitchers that are throwing even CLOSE to their ability, and the heart of the order is in a bit of a slump. It happens. I'm still a fan, win or lose.
And?

I could like Kansas city and still bust balls!

I gotta take it when i can get it chris... Its fun to watch the bandwagon already starting to thin out!!!! I love it!
Its not our fault that you give 9.5 million dollars a year to John Garland who has a carreer ERA of nearly 5

If anything they are pitching closer to their abilities...they were pitching well over their abilities last year. Contreras is yet to pitch even close to his 4.00 ERA standard Rolleyes

I agree Roc, Just giving you chit...

One good thing about the slump, is with the bandwagoners getting off the ride, it makes room for the real fans again...

I know and i agree about the bandwagon thing....

BUT

The young squire mike makes a HUGE point... I think the sox's pitching staff has come back down to earth... Burhele and Garcia are better than what they are performing right now. But garland??? C'monnnnnnnnnnnnn !!! He cant even hit a guy! Let alone the strike zone! Contreas... Ehhh... what can i say the guy had a good run, but i think the home stretch may be a ruff one!

Luckily you guys have the orioles next... Maybe you can get back on your feet.... Or hopefully fall harder on your chit eatin grins
I think the sox need to start stealing bases and making base runs, they just sit there and never try to steal bases, the only time they get runs are from home runs.
so much for grinder style small ball like alllll those commericals say....
they only have one base stealer! podsednik lol
Not for long.... (possibly)
There is plenty of baseball left. I am a little dissapointed that even when they have decent pitching now they don't have run support, or when they have run support they have no pitching. I think they need to make a few trades just to shake things up a bit. They need to lose Anderson and maybe pick up another arm. I think Machoviak will do just fine in center. Other than that.... chit happens. Lot of baseball left. Detroit just won't go down though thats for sure.....
theres not that much left dan....
I'd rather see Anderson in Center than Machoviak. Anderson has been struggling with his average, but is finally coming around. A lot of his outs AREN'T from strikeouts, he's hitting the ball, just hitting it to people. He is a WAY better fielder than Machoviak, gets a better read on the ball off the bat, rather than waiting to see where it is going, has a better arm...
