I should have pics of my new monster up tomorrow night. After a lot of guidance from Gabe almost the whole thing is set up. I need to move the tranny foreward a hair more but it is almost set. Then it is all setting up linkages and getting the thing dialed... It will be a completely different truck...

Thanks for the help gabe... no way it would have gotten done in this time frame without you...
small= smaller. little = littler

Good enough for me. LoL I think the worse that can happen is I will need to retune it again...
ok im going to put a diff (pun intended) diff oil in my rear diff. what i need to kno is 1st how to clean everything off before i add the 10k diff oil? then how much should i fill it? is there anything i need to use for reassembly like green slime or something on the o-rings? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
denturated alcohol is freaking sweet for cleaning anything rc related. you can buy that at any hardware store
i knew you wouldnt let me down ryan! i was waiting for you to chime in. anything on the other ?'s i had? thanks man
Fill it about 80% full. I use grease on the ring and pinion gear when putting it back together.
like what kind of grease... im kinda new to this stuff...sorry for all of the silly ?'s
Before you seal it use some of the diff fluid and with your finger just dap it in and put it around the seal before putting the ring gear on and screwing it down. That will help make a perfect seal. And about 80% full will do.
any kind of really thin grease like white litium grease.
Somethign like this.

Diff grease

Automotive wheelbearing grease will work too.
I wont use wheel bearing grease anymore. I had a lot of problems with the teeth on the ring gear breaking and since i switched to a thinner grease i havent had any more problems. Thats just my experience with wheel bearing grease tho.
A thin coat wont cause teeth to break. You probally slopped it on there like Jelly on a sandwich.
well ya. I want my stuff well lubed up with no friction
After once around it's all off the gear teeth anyway....it just squishes right out of there...hardly any is left, and that's all any gear needs.
Thick coats causes too much friction..it gets slung around as soon as the diff moves. No need for thick coats. Never broke a diff gear yet using bearing grease.
i also need a new set of cb bearings since mine were trashed after last fri. are the boca bearings at lh any good of should i go with the avid ones that are also a buck?
boca's are nice bearings but you cant beat avid dollar bearings. Same if not better quality for much lower price
