I might be screwed for tommorrow dd race!
#1
First thing today, I sat down and finished up the truck for tommorrows race. All is fine and dandy and I'm ready to rock.

After that I took my tm apart to put in the rd spacer. Trying to put in the wrist pin locking spring, and poof, the damn thing goes flying! I've been looking for a 1/2 hour and I can't find it Sad.

As of right now, I have no motor Sad.

What are my chances the hobby shop will have something like that? How does the 2.5r keep the wrist pin in? Can I use that?

Man...this sucks! Back to searching for the little crap spring thing...

I just lost one yesterday also. I used the one from my 2.5r also. Works fine. Just spoke to Jim at Al's and they have 2 for $3 from Traxxas. It's called a G-Clip. Get an extra package and I'll buy it off of you. I need it to put my TM back together. Thanks...

Ok, that problem is solved. Now I have a new problem Sad.

I turned everything on and checking for gas/brake and steering as normal. OK

Fired up the truck and I lost all my controls! Turned it off and it was normal. Did this a few times with no luck.

Changed the frequency from 85 to 79. Made it marginally better, but still a TON of glitching.

This is the first time this has every happened to me. And it only does it when the motor is running. WTF!

Any tips guys? The battery meter was reading 10.0-9.8, so I just threw the transmitter batteries on the charger. Receiver battery has a full charge.

With the motor off, everythings fine! I don't get it at all Sad.

Needless to say, whether or not it's working tonight, I'll be at the race tommorrow w/ the stock receiver and radio as backup. I don't have a spare jr receiver.

Well, what do ya know. I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out the problem, and what do I see at my feet. The broke as buggy under my table has a jd receiver! I completely forgot about it.

Time to cross my fingers and head over to the dominics parking lot by my house to try this out one more time.

I had problems exactly like that once.. it was the RX that was bad.

Well, I figured it out. I was getting ready to swap out rx and I decided to open up the one that's giving me problems. I was wet inside! I guess after cleaned it today I didn't dry it as good as usuall :o.

Turned on the good 'ol air compressor and went to town on the rx. Slapped it back together, installed it.

I headed over to my night time testing facility (dominics parking lot) and boy did this thing run!. I couldn't believe my eyes! I could barely get the temps over 220 and it was just straight screeming. Top speed was crazy too! My motor must have had a small air leak or something before. Performance like this before would have given me over 280* temps. I hope everyone brings their A game, because looking to clean house Confusedmash:.
