I'd get a 1.5th scale for less maintenance, and cheaper fuel costs....
I'd want to race them too. But its go anywhere. So I can just terrorize a park too. Lol

i dont wanna sound like a dick, but im sure i will; I think the 1/5ths scales are cool to have, mess with em once in a while but man id get bored. They are slower, less durable (due to the weight i know but still) and cant jump or handle like a buggy or truggy. I think thats the major turn off even if it ends up being cheaper to run...again just my opinion

I have no clue where your geting this information. Your opinions are just fine & they are yours. When you say slower though, where did that come from ? We have a customer with an FG that has beat tons of stuff on the dragstrip there in Lynwood. Being as it runs over 70mph. I don't call that slow ! Even the ones we build here daily run 50. That would eat up a buggy or truggy in speed. They are very durable too. They show breakage mainly when crashed into something very ridgid, Like anything else would too. They are not built to be an 1/8th scale buggy or truggy. You say they can't Jump or handle like one, which is again wrong. If you want to spend the money they can do about anything. I understand it's not what your into, which is fine, but why knock them when you have very little knowledge of them at all. If it's not what you like Don't buy one by all means

He's been running Nitro forever, or so I'd assume. The racing styles would be very diff.
Offroad Nitro resembles motocross
Offroad Large Scale resembles Trophy Truck.
(I'd do both, just sticking up for both sides)
Thats what he means, He might get bored, He might not. No telling.

Oh I know. I've seen Mike race before. The 1/8th scale class is very good for competition. I like it alot, but have never raced on a large track with lots of jumps. I totally agree with your comparison of the 2 types of racing. I would think anyone who loves good competition & racing in general would like either one. If it has wheels & goes fast, I like it !! And sometimes it doesn't even have to have wheels !!

Im seriously considering getting a 5b, I just read they have a 5b SS kit coming out late this month. i may save and get that, its pretty much a pre-hopped up 5b, for cheaper. Im digging it. If I get one and you have organized racing at some point I may come join in.

I'm waiting on one of those also. They will be very similar in price to a stock one, but missing a few parts. Needs radio gear & I believe one of the servos. The thing looks awesome though & I'm sure with a 26cc engine it will be about perfect power wise. The up-grades it comes with sound very nice & from my perspective Kits are the way to go !

I think they would be fun if you lived somewhere like that, cali, arizona, colorado, places like that. But for here, with not much, if any organized racing, there way to big and expensive. I still think theyre awesome and i would definitely have one if i lived in the desert area and stuff.

The SS will have a 26 cc. engine. A 29 cc requires a stroker crankshaft. The 26 will be plenty of power. We make a ton of them with 28.5 engines which is easy to do. Just add a 36mm head & piston on a stock 23 or 26 & it's a 28.5. These are crazy powerful & what I would say almost almost to much for racing. Especially if the track is loose & dusty like this one was !! I understand the room problem to run, especially where you guys are located. Here we are located in a corn field with tons of room. Along with that I live on 5 acres of land & thats why I enjoy them so much. We have people here who have them & live in town .... Not so much fun. Most of them come to my house to run, or we meet in some local parking lots to have fun there. Thats why spring will be cool to have actual racing, with lap counter & timing. We'll see what happens. We have plans to come to LH to race rally cars on the on-road track also in the spring. We have sold a few rally cars in your area, just for that reason. A little racing & some drift action will be cool !!
