Is there a way to turn that nasty wall at the end of the straight into a really banked turn or something?? Or is it going to be left pretty much as is to rely on driver skill??

If it were banked, or there was some sort of cushioning by the wall, im sure people would run alot harder though that turn.

There wasen't any sort of bank or protection at the old track that I seen the one time I went there, so I guess its a matter of knowing what your RC is capable of.
Yeah I was kind of thinking that it may turn away a lot of new racers away if after every lap or two they need to rebuild the front of their truck/buggy/st. I dunno... I guess you can't cater to the new racers too much though... I guess pieces of tires of extra tubes or something would be enough. Call it the "Learning Curve".

Oh and rob you're right I fogot that at the end of the front straight there was a wall. If you screwed up you just tried to slide perfectly sideways so you didnt break much...
Well in the last place we had walls on all four side. just like this track. I think most indoor track have walls. and yes I can and will put tubes in the corners. as the guys who help with the track knows I run out of tubes to put in the corners. But I can't fix the fact you don't know when to stop or use the brakes before you hit the wall which is not part of the track it's 10feet past the corner and that thing in your right hand will make your car or truck .......TURN..... before you hit the wall. wow

LOL. Bernie thanks for having me out. Like you said just paint a target on the walls and give a prize for the bulls eye. :bustingup :joy: :bustingup :joy: :bustingup :joy:
ya thanks Bernie I had lots of fun and love the layout.
no give points for highest mark on the wall LOL or better yet how many parts can you get to stick in the wall lol.

I hate to see the first runaway it claims
what about a volleyball net? LOL!!!!! That might help.
Oh sure make fun of the newbs concerns over the "White Monster" !! It was a seasoned racer (George) that brought it up in the first place. I'm all for fun, but stuff happens, and if you end up in the wall(s) and break all the time, what fun is that gonna be? Maybe I can get a bulk discount on Traxxas suspension parts if I buy them by the gross.....

experienced racer......

I'm a seasoned racer but only when I have BBQ sauce on my shirt....
Dave it is very difficult to hit those walls, I was scared at first but once you drive on it you will notice, if your line is that far out you are doin something wrong lol. there will probably be a tube there anyway so if you do feel the need to hit it head on it should give you some vert and u can just pancake the wall with the chassis. The drivers stand is sweet you can see everything unless you have a black buggy like me LOL. Bernie how bout making that railing lower so midgets like me can get their hands over it Wink LOL
well.. George is the only one to hit the wall all day. I don't think it will be a problem. George just cant drive, and to call him a seasoned racer is true but he also hit pit lane and broke... how do you hit pit lane George....SLOW DOWN....
LOL Mike....

Thanks, we'll see how bad it will get. Not gonna worry about it until after it's over. Still excited to get our "first time in the dirt" under our belt. We hope you guys will be gentle... ours will be the Revo with bubble wrap all over it Big Grin and a Student Driver bumper sticker from Excel.
you will do fine... just don't follow George...
Or get in front of him either I guess. well be in the right lane most of the time. Has anyone heard if there will be any open practice time next week between the holidays?
hahah cool dude, u guys are lucky for this to be your first dirt experience, the lanes are huge, and the turns arent as tight as the other track IMO plus once the dirt settles in u will feel like u are driving on pavement, something you will not experience at any outdoor track. The traction will be seriously dialed when its ready. The day we got to test drive it we really tore it up, it wasnt packed down enough and all us guys running CF's K2's and the monster trucks just pulled dirt out from everywhere. It took alot of work today to get it back together but we handled it lol. It willl be awesome! Oh and dont spill anything on all the tables I painted!!! Wink
You got it! Pit towels mandatory!!
Was the track any better traction wise today Mike ?
for hte shoes yes! no racing allowed today Bernie said that was just a one day treat, I was so dissapointed lol It was fun working with the guys again today. I give bernie alot of credit now that I see how much freakin work actually goes in to making a sweet layout, we worked on the track for like 3 hours today

To elaborate on what my good friend and sponser said...... George cant drive, SLOW.... His brain lacks the ability to limit how far back his finger pulls back on the throttle.... It doesnt help he has a v-8 strapped into everything ethier!!! :bustingup :bustingup
hmm where is george to chime in on all of this verbal abuse??? Smile LOL
he cant he is not home... hehehehehehe
Hes probaly out stockin up on pamers and formula!!! (That one was for you snake!!!!)
