revo 3.3 engine bearings problems???
#1
I have the revo 3.3 with the 3.3 engine and i was driving today and it all of a sudden just died when I went too take off and it had gas left and so i went to start it and the clutch was engaged and every time i pulled the pull start it would jerk the truck forward......so i thought my clutch shoes were shot but too it apart and found out that the clutch bell bearings one was exploded like the ceramic balls exploded and went into the other bearing and caused it to rub.......

so basically has anyone had this happen to them with the trx engines?

cause i know the 3.3 engines have new bearings, not the same as the 2.5's

Not a biggie... CB bearings have a ruff life and somtimes dont last long.... The way you made it sound was like one of the engine bearings was bad! Be glad its not that and its somthin soooo simple

Yeah, I thought thats what he meant too, I've had a few bearing go bad on me but I just get some new traxxas ones, don't get the .99 ones because they won't last that long.

No way.... spend the $2. There is a big difference between engine bearings and clutch bell bearings. I think the CB bearings are the same as the 2.5 revo. Don't waste Traxxas's time with that though.....

Also, even though CB bearings do fail, sometimes it is our own fault. Check your Mesh. If your ger mesh is TOO tight, you can put too much stress on the bearings causing them to wear prematurely.

the 99 cent Bocas at LH lasted over 3 gallons in my clutch on my P5. I'd say they are a great, cheap bearing.

Stay away from duratrax bearings. They aren't worth their weight in doodee.

Boca's will do you well. I ran those and they would last a decent amount of time.
