Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread
I was thinkin about that pipe. It does cost more then the others. But wasnt sure if the P5 is weak in any area. Try to offset that with the pipe, but if the P5 is solid all across the board, then the Jp-3 is the right pipe for it.

Anyone know anything about this Fantom .21 they have at their site? Fantomracing.com It is the only motor they have there so I guess that is their only '06 or '07 motor. I heard good things about their past motors, thinking about dropping one in the Revo.

well the new fantom .21 is basically the same as the radical i ran, its super fast and awesome in a truggy, but i couldnt stand it in my buggy. Its an awesome mill and puts out a ton of power in the truggy

Why the difference between the buggy and truggy?
They are both about the same price,so would you say they are about the same in power and performance? Or might I be better off getting the P5. I do like to be different from others,so that is why I am looking at this motor(along with others).

just cuz they are the same in price doesnt mean they are the sme in performance. For some reason the radical power engines ran different in the buggies, it has something to do with the porting that just likes the truggy gearing better. u will like the fantom motor

Get the P5!!!!!
It has a proven track record and has become the standard by which other .21 mills are measured.

The Radicals are powerful but had there problems (Early stage bugs is all im sure) ... And who has a fantom???? What if you have tuning issues? There would be nobody with that mill at the track.

Stick with a Novarossi... They has a strong following at the track and the power to sling anything around the track

Sorry thought it was a differnt fantom... Still its just a radical. I doubt they have done anything to eliminate the bugs.

Nova, rb, os.... Id think more this direction

I would have to say stick with the P5 a friend of mine had the fantom for 2 weeks and sold it. Nothing but trouble, wouldn't hold a tune, kept poping plugs, I think he even had to do a bearing on it.

The WS7III looks like a nice motor. I have been thinking about going the RB direction. Plenty of motors to choose from.

just remember the ws7III isnt going to have the low end pop that a p5 will

You can always clutch it for some more snap...RB or Nova is definatley a step in the right direction.

Ok,I am looking at A-Main,they have the WS7 two ways.
Motor only:

Motor+pipe:

Is the pipe worth it? Or is a JP better.

RB is good with combos...that pipe is a new design 3 chamber - sounds similar in concept to a JP-3 improved low & mid along with good top end.

Anyone hear anything back about the TTR rims? I have a set ready to order but I read the feedback at A-main and one guy says that his were crap and had cracks all over.
I should stick to truggy size tires because I plan to get some GRP tires and they will not fit on Maxx rims.

Already have it selected for my next order in 2 weeks. Unless something else gets my eye. This package is $400. So it would have to be a better motor with pipe. Or the same but lower price. I am also checking ebay.

I am looking around at start boxes,is a 750 motor the norm? I see single motor and dual motor also.

Casketman: Stick with the rims for the CRT they are the same size and if you get the white ones then you can just dye them to the color that you wish, I heard that the TTR rims are junk and they have a tendency to crack on ya unless you boil them first. And for a starter box look into the TTR one TTRPD2409 lots of grunt to get the bigger stuff running when the motors are new and it TTR man J/K but I would look into a single motor box they seem to have the extra torque to get the bigger tighter motors going I have found.

Yea,I have a couple of Ofna boxes saved in my shopping cart, just have to pick which one I want to go with. But didnt want to get stuck with one that didnt have the balls to do the job. They are all 750's and I already have a 12v batt here.

God,I haev dyed so much stuff for the revo. Saw the black tires and thought I was done with that! LOL.

Ya man I would just dye the CRT ones black and not worry about it again, but Czech uses the ofna boxes and says he likes it, and I use the ttr ones and haven't had any issues of cranking over my motors I had a new WS7II and didn't have a single issue with turning that over.

I didnt mean to imply it was a weak engine in any way... I was just tryin to say that since the low end power band of anything RB is so smooth it may feel weak coming outta the hole ... Ofcourse like others mentioned clutching and pipe could all but eliminate that
