I'm getting the STS .28 next. My buddy has his on order. For $99.90 you can hardly go wrong. http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/product_in...s_id=13417

Plus more dyno proven HP than many other .28s http://www.nitrodynesystems.com/Engine%20Database.htm

$8 shipped backplate and other inexpensive parts: http://www.racernine.com/sts28.html#parts

Yep I run the sts and love it. For you it might be a pain (on a Maxx, you'd need a pull start) but on the starter box I love it. Easy to start and will run all day.

I'd suggest breaking it in on another vehicle using a bumpstart. Then put the pullstart back on and use it in the Maxx.

Yeah, that'd be easier.

yeah,i'm definately leaning towards another sts.i just traded some mustang parts for an extended tmaxx with an sts conversion on it.the guy claimed the clutch bell needed to be replaced.turns out the crank is shot.its all tore up.i put a new clutch bell on it but the engine keeps locking up on me cause its so out of round.i saw they sell a crank for the sts for 45 bucks, but some people have said its very difficult to get the sts apart to rebuild.with the link you just posted i'm not sure i want to even try for 100 bucks.thats a phenominal price.

what is with the pull start on these motors.they suck.the one i have is brand new and already its screwed up.dammit.lol.

I know its not on your list of engines but...

I ran Standard MT for close to 3 years. I raced a heavily modded savage which was very capable and at times was very VERY dominate race truck....

I always have run the Xtm 24/7 pro engine (SH made just like the Mach line) I will always recommend this engine for as long as they make it... I honestly cant say enough about it...
The 24/7 is very powerful, it pushed my savage and my LSP without ever breaking a sweat... They run cool 200-230 and its in hog heaven. The durability is very good... Ive had three and always got atleast 5 gallons out of them before i moved them to a back up engine.

The "pro" isnt a torque monster (will wheelie if you want though) it has an extremley racing friendly powerband and has the rpm's for those long straights. Another plus to the powerband is the drivetrain holds up much better as compared to the extreme torque of other mills.

They do cost about 45 bucks more than that 99 dollar engine that someone else mentioned but when you buy a mill from hobbypeople.net (xtm distibutor) You get an amazing warrenty! Its almost no questions asked! I once returned a motor to thenm that i didnt even get from them!!! And they replaced it with a brand new mill!
That and the performance of the "pro" is totally worth the money.

Sorry for the long post... Good luck with your MT
