T-maxx ?
#1
Ok first of all I am new to this board and so far it looks pretty sweet...Im looking to get back into racing after about a 3 year brake or so(radio active closedSad )
Now my question is I have a t maxx that is mostly stock aside for aluminum skids...what else am i going to want to do in order to get this thing raceable? I plan on heading out to lh on sunday and just race it as it is but i would like to get it a better set up keep in mind this is an original T not a 2.5
should I go with a new engine, 2.5 wide arms, tires, gears, servo? is this truck even worth the investment? and could tell me the things that are more necessary to get first? and also if i go with things like a new engine or servo's please make suggestions as to what will work best
Thanks for the help,
Steve

go with the 2.5 definatley, get the widemaxx stuff, and once you get the new motor get a new pipe to wake it up. I assume you have the stock wheels and tires, if so, get some bowties. You would probally want to get better steering servo also, and a reciver pack if you dont already have one.

alot of people have said it. practice! get some good track tires and go and practice on the track before you go droping alot od coin on your truck.
after that, the widemaxx set. if you want a good motor, go with an os or the 2.5. am fm radio and a rx pack. buggy shocks (4 not 8) and i would say allum bulks. the plastic ones break to easy.

Nice steve joined up... welcome man.

I have seen maxxes race competatively but they have grown fewer and fewer since the revo(lution). To get the most out if it you will definitely want the wider arms, and probably a newer motor of just about any kind. (Check out the XTM .18 It's cheap and I believe a direct drop in for the most part.) A supermaxx 4-shock setup would also be a huge help along with a new steering servo for sure. Aluminum bulks would help just because they are a know weak point on the maxx. Other than that tires and paractice for a maxx... (Either that or start saving for something new... There is a $250 Roller LSP in the for sale/for trade section that is an absolute steal but needs a motor and electronics) Anyway... for now you can run my revo tires and I'll get ahold of you tonight to make plans for sunday. (I work until 7:00 tonight)
