nothing wrong with starting off with a jammin great buggy had one myself and was very solid!
I love my 8ight so thats what I would pick everyone has there own view on everything, your best bet is to try driving any kind of buggy you can to see what you like the best before I bought my 8ight I drove a few at the local track and loved how they drove ( I used to race 1/10 nitro couple yrs back) so this buggy drove very similar IMO. I clicked off much faster laps after going with my 8ight over my jammin.
just buy something that your local hobby shop stocks parts for as well. and something alot of locals run becuase thy can help you with set-ups and what not also.
