Well I generally looked over the site and they do have some good info but at the same time it is based on certain products that they market.
I can say the lion fish is NOT a beginner fish---it is a poisonous fish...what are they thinking.
The best place for any info is on forums like Chitown.
You do not want ones where they also have a store---they make moneyoff you.
You want to go to places that have nothing to gain.
One thing is the filter sock---no no especially for a reef---will cause water parameter issues and can case back ups and flood.
I know this fisrt hand...really is no need for them. You get some of the good stuff caught and is part of feeding the tank.
Other stuff is over kill and over rated.
UV sterilizer is only needed to rid a parasite and usually will be common on a fish only tank---not on a reef cuz it kills the good stuff too.
I also saw nothing on the different par readings on metal halid bulbs.
They are pushing Hamilton bulbs which are okay.
The dco not get into te different types of MH lighting like double ended HQI bulbs.
Another is they push power compact(PC) lighting which is expensive in bulb replacement which needs to be done every six months. at $20 to $30 a crack
I my self use VHO lighting and bulbs last 18 months at about $25 to $35 a crack.
One year on VHO set up and one year on the PC set up---it will be about the same---it is the longevity you need to look at as well.

http://www.zoosrus.commay not be up anymore but will redirect you.
These are two good places to go for free and not a money maker.
Typically stay away from LFS especially when you are new to the hobby.

Quick question Bio, in my sump I see alot of little things that look like tiny shrimp. You have to stare to see them moving around. What are they?

Oh that is the good stuff to have
Those are either mysis or copepods--most likely you will have both
A mandarine goby will chow down on those.
To have one you got to have that cuz some just do not take to frozen foods.
Some live and some die do to a lack of sids and pods and not adjusting to frozen suppliments.
You actually have them in the show tank and at night with a night light like blue or red you will see them swim around. You may find other things you never new you had.
It is kewl to watch and those lil guys are fast swimmers

Welp, I guess the shock was what did it, and my ph was a bit high. Got back down to right around 7.2-5
Got some new fish, just a bunch of little ones.

I like the bass. LoL We have 2 ponds in our back yard but I just don't have the cash to get into salt water tanks. I am pretty entertained with our giant goldfish, bluegills, and catfish. We were going to get some bass but we were worried they would eat all of our goldfish. LoL

Same user name.
I am not on there much these days
For me it is not having one and going to those places--makes it hard.

Yep..first things first
First get a job.
Second wrap up divorce
Third get a more perm place to live.
It is way too much "bs" to go through without having a perm place to live.

If anyone has some questions about fish tanks either freshwater or saltwater feel free to ask. I have 24 tanks set up ranging from 10-125 gallons. I am always willing to help. The reefcentral board is one of the best places for information for saltwater. If you are into freshwater african cichlids the http://www.gcca.net is the local club.
Thanks
Thanks

Hey guys, there seems to be something white forming on the downspout of my water filter thingy....And the glass has it too. It's kind of a haze...Not sure what it is and if I should be worried? Also, I saw a magnetic cleaner somewhere, it looked like you put 1/2 of it in the tank and the other half outside, moved it around from the outside and it cleaned the glasss...Anybody try one of these and does it work?
