some suckers and a bunch of neon tetra's... they are cheap and pretty tough. and if you are luckey the will breed like rabbits. lol plus you can get some other cheap tetras that look kinda cool, they will get along good and look pretty cool too, mabey get a flour. light tho

Unless you can handle this fresh water stuff like the back of your hand then by all means.

Marine set up is expensive and for it to be done right.
Then the start up process can be a PITA and frustrating.
Then you have to have plenty of patience before you add any live stock which many ppl fail this area big time(Myself included when I started).

If you do decide to.
Get everything and I mean everything first and don't cheap out and cut corners--you will be sorry you did.

I am seriously thinking of selling my 20g tank with custom OAK stand and canopy with MH lights, Actinic Lights, Sump, Skimmer, Skimmer pump, Return pump, Heater.
The stand and canopy will fit a 55g tank but I designed this for the 20 to sit on the left or the right side with the opposite side closed off with a door in the front.
The tank will have one side view and front view. I still have to drill holes on the glass yet.
If there is room under there I was thinking on making a top off tank for it as well.
Heck I will even toss in 100g salt mix to get it going.

Pirrahna on the other hand are skiddish and always hiding... They would never feed while we watched ... It was so dissapointing... Starve them for weeks and then dump in a dozen feeders and as long as we watched the Pirrahana would just swim around with the feeders ....

One time i walked away for maybe 3 mins to tell my friend how sh1tty theses pirrahanas were and as we went by the tank all that was left was a goldfish head!!!!

IMO... Ive always wanted to do a freshwater tank with native fish in it... Like a couple little bass, mabye a catfish or a little carp... then make it look like a river...

My buddies Pirrahna (sp?) was totally opposite, he would try to jump through the glass and bite you if you got to close. He would devour his food like crazy right when you drop it in.
I guess they have personalities like any other pet/human. They aren't all the same.

So tank is ready for fish and some corals. I'm probally gonna head out today and pick up a clown fish maybe a goby (sp) for right now. Should I get a clean up crew right away ?? or should I wait a couple of weeks after the fish have been in the tank ?

You can do both.
What you are mostly seeing for clowns is called False Percula. Also known as NEMO to some--LOL
The Gobies are great but if you want a kewl colorful fish check out the Firefish which has a long top yellos fin. There is a puple colored one. I would stay away from the Damsel fish---they are a pain to get out later and you will not want them especially the black and white ones.
I would go with 3 royal gammas myself. This depends on the size of your tank.

There is a place called ROD'S Reef and he is in Dekalb area by that track there.
He sells Black Onyx clowns and breeds them as well as corals.
He has the best corals around especially if you want to get into stoinies.

Hey guys, any clue why my tank went from crystal clear last night to cloudy this morning? Oh yeah, I tested the water, it was pretty hard, and had high levels of 2 things, forgot though I'll find out again later.

Was there anything odd in the gravel when you cleaned it up?
Is there any possibility that something may have been dropped in there?

Get some clown triggers Snake and a ribbon eel, those fish are cool looking and have teeth. Scotts pet shop out by me has some nice stuff also, they base there biz on fish sales.

I had a buddy that had some Snake Heads in a 50 gallon tank. Thse bastards were mean as hell, like pit bulls. He had to get rid of them because they were getting to big. When he was taking them out of the tank they put up a fight and half the water in there was on the floor and walls. I think he released them in some river or lake. Not to long ago they banned the sale of Snake Heads because of people doing that, they kill anything to eat it.
