Revo2k Wrote:Naw man...It can't be that bad on the low end. I know it needs richening cause right now it sucks.

Ask Six, when we were at the track in StLouis, his buggy would catch me easily in the first half of the straight, then the RPM's would reach the powerband and I would pull away from him.

The Crappy low end is the main reason MOST people don't like the Kanai. I liked it. Kinda sounds like a 2-speed buggy.

whats gearing u running matt?

15 t clutch bell...Not sure on the spur though.
there is plenty of low on the keni motor if its tuned right.the hesitent takeoff is due to a miss adjusted mid setting.
well if thats how it runs its not an off road motor... Matt couldnt even get over the small table at the begging of the straight

So if I do find this mysterious mid range needle, what should I do? Richen it I assume? God, if this solves all my problems....lol
look on both sides of the carb you will see
A F'IN 15 TOOTH IN A BUGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

oK i think i found your problem matt!!
It should be a 13tooth man!!! I think your dad was wrong your a dumbass! LOL!

In practice I could....Racing I couldn't though of course. That was when the low was slobbery rich and it had some punch though...
Matt, I would say leave the LSN where it is. Richen the HSN about 1/4 turn, and see the difference. You will still have the top end, but it should help keep enough fuel flowing to keep it from lean bogging when you get right back on throttle.

Oh, and DON'T adjust the mid range....

Has anyone else noticed this?!?!?! This is the problem?

Alright. I'll try in the morning, if I fire it up right now I'll get beaten lol..
I'm outta money until somebody buys this servo so no new cb just yet...

But if I drop 2 teeth will i have no top end?
before you do that get the 15 tooth off and put on a 13 if not 14
I'm with rocco. Get rid of that 15T bell already!!! Stick in a 13T
15 tooth is way too big for that. 13t 14t tops......
Dont mess with the mid needle, you have to adjust LSN also when messing with the mid. If you havent found the mid needle yet, chances are you dont have a mid needle. leave it alone anyway.

Before I do what? Richen it? Sorry, alot of posts right now lol....

I can't get one just yet though (a 13t cb), no cash.
you will never tune it right with a 15 on

btw the spur is 46 tooth
GWPHOENIX Wrote:before you do that get the 15 tooth off and put on a 13 if not 14

Arrgh stupid comp lag, I gotta restart real quick.
Yeah, I agree with Rocco. Switch to a 13t Clutchbell, and leave the low speed needle where it is. Work a little with the High speed needle.

I read somewhere that the "mid-range" needle on the Kanai is a factory Flow setting, and shouldn't be messed with.

Other than that, if you decide (from one of your previous posts) to sell the Kanai, I want first dibs. That'll scream in the Inferno GT with the 2-speed.
dont touch another needle untill you put a 13 t on that buggy!

Your clutch is screaming inside there man!
In that last video you linked, are punching the throttle right away or smooth on the gas ????
snakebite46 Wrote:In that last video you linked, are punching the throttle right away or smooth on the gas ????

Full (punch) right away.
Damn....Earliest I can get a CB is friday Sad When I get paid...
that might be a HSN problem IMO. How's the car feel running it around 1/4 throttle ? Check them clutch shoes too. You might have some glazing going on there. I had a problem last year at a DD race. My P5 sounded almost like yours does. It turned it to be the clutch springs were worn out.
