Wooot!!!!!!!!!
Hopfully.. the Sox will pull it off and go all the way! either way I'm just glad there is a chicago team winning games! its been a horrible time for chicago teams.
Hey Rocco... IN YOUR FACE!! I told you so. All the way back before boston when you and everyone else were saying that the white sox were going to get killed. Well... they did it. Or does that not matter now?? Just like sweeping boston didn't matter?? Maybe aneheim will go an make up all sorts of excuses so they can be just like the lovable yet inevitably losing cubs. Now the sox made it further so that argument is gone too. They are going all the way. I'll be back when they win the WS!!!
im suprised that they have 4 straight complete games for starting pitchers. Thats something really amazing right there. Hopefully they can take that momentum to the world series against the astro's

yes... +1 for you :joy:
im still a cubs fan till the end but since the cubs cant win it i hope the sox do since they are a chitown team
just so you know
4 more wins left. hope they can do it but we will see.
First time in 32 years that starting pitchers threw complete in 3 games in a row... I don't think it has EVER happened 4 games in a row (Till this year)

What was it that Rocco said about "inconsistent pitching" Wink

Quote:3rd. Your drunk on the fact that they made the playoffs if you think there going anywhere besides the first round.
Your pitching is in consistint at best... And you cant support what the pitcher does give you with the bats . Say what you have to say, ill laugh when the first rd comes and goes and leaves the sox in the same place as teh cubs... WATCHING baseball
.

Sorry (and Glad) to say, you were FAR from right on that one....
HERES WHAT I HAVE TO SAY TOOOO ALL WHITE SOXS FANS

Ill take my Crow with Plenty of A-1 Sauce.....

I still hate the sox, the "cell" and well most all soxs fans. I guess ill have to rely on a National league team that i hate to get the job done....
To TRUE soxs fans (if you exist besides the 5 on this board) Watch out im sure the bandwagona wheels are about to blow off!!!

Mich and anybody else...

Sorry if my last post messed up the thread... It looked ok on my end.
Supporting the local team in the World Series is not BandWagonJumping. Claiming to be a true Sox fans since 1959 IS!!!!

So support the Sox, love or hate 'em! They got the job done and made it in. Now they just need to finish it off!

What a potential WS....Sox versus Cardinals! Cub fans could boo the entire game, every game!!
A White Sox vs. Cards world series would be cool, but honestly I think Houston has more drive then the Cards. But that wouldn't seem right right WS vs Astros, doesn't have that "baseball" ring to it. To bad the Braves didn't make it, then it would be a guarneeted(sp?) World Series for the Sox. The Atlanta Braves the Buffalo Bills of Baseball.
Dave- i see what your saying but supporting a team i clearly dont like just cuz there from the same area i live in IS Bandwagon jumping IMO... I Will bleed cubby blue through thick and thin (more of the later ,i know)... Id feel like a traitor or something if i supported the soxs. I know George and my buddy kevin would rather i stayed out of there cheering section. I feel its the true soxs fans time to celebrate, not mine just because i live in this town

Bandit- I agree the Astros dont really make ya think World series contender, but that team looks real hungry and will finish off the aging and floundering cards. I think Houston might be able to show the sox a good game. They seem to be the last team in the running with the same "fire in the belly" that the soxs seem to have right know...

The only problem i see is that Houston plays in a tiny park and the bats for the soxs seem to belt the ball to warning track with little effort... So i guess the ex yank pitchers and lidge and oswalt better bring the good stuff or this may be a short series!!!!

Oh and that was a perfect comparision of Buffalo and The Braves!!! I think in the 14 years of winning the division they've won the WS ONCE!!!! thats an .071 avg.!!!
Well spoken Rocco, a very educated statement. I know you don't like the Sox, and I do NOT expect you to change your beliefs, but at least you see the fire they are bringing to the game. Cards or Astros, I think this is going to be a hard fought Series on both ends of the game. Sox piching has been VERY strong in these past games, and the clutch hitting has been there. Now to see if they fall prey to EVERY Chicago teams downfall, or if they can keep that fire burning.

As for the "Bandwagon" statements. I completely agree with Rocco. Just because a local team is playing good is no reason to suddenly show support. I never got into basketball, and refused to jump on the Bulls wagon when they were so great. I was glad to see a Chicago team bring home the championship, but I didn't change my views on the sport, just to be on the winning side.
Roc, then if I were in your shoes (and this is what I would do, not me telling you what to do) I would cheer AGAINST the Astros (assuming it's them getting in), not cheer anti-Sox. I would just wan't to see my city celebrate. I couldn't be neutral or apethetic. I need Chicago to win SOMETHING. I MISS THE BULLS GLORY DAYS!!!!!!!

Isnt cheering against the astros like cheering for the soxs???

Not tryin to be a d1ck or anything just a question

Thanks bud... Trust me that was hard to type.
Ok, then cheer for the 'Stros. It's just a baseball game. It's not like we're playing, or owners.
but if you dont hate the sox is it ok to cheer for them even tho your a cubs fan till the end? When it comes to just during the season play its cubs all the way and i hope the sox lose it all but now that the sox outbeat the cubs and are gonna be playing in the series is it really wrong to chear them on even if you dont hate them?
Thats true too... I hate when people (or myself fo rthat matter) refer to the team they like as "we"... Such as , '' Man!!!! The Bears beat the vikings A$$es !! WE looked good on sunday!"
