No, it's not wrong... I think the "Bandwagoners" that everyone has a problem with, are the ones who complain all year that "(insert team name here) sucks..." Then run out and buy all the T-shirts, jerseys, hats, etc. and act like they were behind them all the way. There is nothing wrong with city pride.

On another note, IF it is Chicago vs. St.Louis in the series, and the White Sox win, will we still be welcome at Camp Max... LOL
i dont think they suck i just want the cubs to win over them. Im still not gonna go out and buy a hat or anything but since they did get farther then the cubs i hope they still do good only cuz the cubs cant this year
if the sox win then the day after the series is over its all about go cubs again. If they lose about 5 seconds after the series is over its go cubs.
Well after reading a bumch of these posts I feel I must speak up. I agree with alot on here and disagree totally with some.

I was born and raised a Sox fan, Iwas there in 83 when they beat seatle to win the division. Being a die hard Sox fan, I want nothing more than to see them go all the way. If they stay firing on all cylinders as they are now I thinkit will be hard to beat them.

Now as far as the city/sox/cub thing here are my comments.

When there is one team it is easy to do the city feel, for example, I dont really like Basketball, but when the BUlls where in it I rooted for them, for the sake of Chicago Pride.
Now Sox verses cubs is a different story. If the Cubs where in it I would root against them no matter who they where playing just because they are the Cubs. Just thesame as Rocco feels (except different team). For the true die hard sox fans, they truely hate the cubs and for the last 80 some years our only satisfaction was the cubs not winning, so for most generations this is instilled in them, the cubs cant win it all. Whenever I go to a Sox game I always see 100's of anti Cub shirts on people at the game. Is there a jelousy issue between the teams, Hell yes there is. People look down on the south side for some reason, but would the cubs sell out every game if they played at Cellular field, the answer would be NO. Dont even bring up the area of Cellular field, put it in Schaumburg andd the Cubs still wouldnt sell out. people go to Wrigley for the field more than the team.

This post is long enough and I am losing my train of thought so I will have to continue later
[QUOTE=thenewguy821].......On another note, IF it is Chicago vs. St.Louis in the series......./QUOTE]

I'll give you 3:1 on that happening.

Also, City Pride is also the correct theme I was going for earlier. Good choice of words, TNG.
Rocco, also "right on" about "we". No pro Chicago athletes here that I know of !!!!!

and RC Pro doesn't count......so don't type it.......
There are always going to be bandwaggoners, I mean how many Yankee fans are there? (god i hate the yankees). And if the Sox lose the series, these same people will be like oh "they blew it, they suck" and when the next season starts, Comiskey(it will a cold day in you know where because I call the corparte name) will as empty as it has been in the past. But if the win the Series the bandwagon will continue until they start losing again, it one reapeating cycle.
I was supposed to have 4 tickets to game 3 or 6... preferably box seats. Went on to buy tickets and right after noon ticketmaster all but cam to a halt. By the time the page refreshed all that was left were single seats scattered through the upper deck. It sucks... I wanted to go so bad. I didn't care that I would spend $185 on one game for one ticket. And I doubt I will find anything reasonable through a broker.

I just do not get that. I have always been a Cubs fan. I was there when they were in the playoffs because I was fortunate enough to have season tickets. I saw the "bartman" fiasco and felt the pain when they lost. (No offense to Bartman, the game was over by that time anyway).

But I have ALWAYS wished the Sox well - except for the crosstown classic games - and root for them with all my heart now! They deserve to win! I also failed to get tickets. Seems like the brokers have the matrix computers working for them. I had 4 people online on 4 phones trying to get seats to no avail.
you can go on ebay and get 2 play off tickets for about 2500 dollars. There going for just over 1,200 hundred dollars a ticket. And if you think that is really a high price ive seen just about all auctions have FREE SHIPPING. So your saving money on shipping and still getting to see the game.
To bad no have price mondays huh? During the season I would spend like $15 total for a great time at the game, ticket(half price), consession (half off 1 hour before game), 5 for park (ususaly my portion). I'm going to game 2, 6( if needed), 7(if needed) thanks to my brother, as a performance award at work he got tickets. It pays to be a great brother.( man I will owe him big time).
At work we tried to get tickets on 5 computers. No one got through. Talk about a hard ticket to come by.
I tried too... No luck. I wanted to sell them on ebay and make mad bank! $4k Buy it now!
Heres a question why is it illegal to stand in front of the ball park and sell a ticket for more than face value... But it IS ok to selll them at a 200% mark up on stubhub.com????????

WTF! Talk about bull$hit!
I saw one on ebay his way around it was you where buying a pen, for the extra money over face value.

It was 2 tickets and a pen for 2500.00 BIN. So the pen was worth 2100.00
Man is that bull!!!
Sp who wants to pitch in and buy season tickets for next season......First dibs if we were holders.
Ohhhhh ME ME!!!!

Astros huh? Should be a decent series.
Sox in 6 is my guess. I would say 5 but the Astros have a lot of heart (not as much as the Sox) and some damn good pitching. Should be a good series...
