Which One...Upgrades for RS4 Evo?
#1
I am gonna put some upgrades on my HPI RS4 EVO 3. But I am alittle confused about what to get. I am gonna upgrade to new shock towers, upper chassis deck. But I have a choice between: Woven Graphite, Carbon Fiber, or aluminum. Which is better? The price is pretty close for the graphite and carbon, the graphite being a HPI product and the Carbon part is made by Hot Bodies and the aluminum is HPI and the cheapest(!?!!?). I also want to get the upgraded chassis for it, the HPI one is 59.99 and 3mm thick and a Hot bodies which looks the same is 19.99, but I dont know how thick. Any help would be great.

I suggest MIP cvd's and center universal drive shafts out to the diffs. Getting the power reliably to the wheels will be more important than chassis flex at the beginning. Then good foam tires, unless you WANT to run rubber tires.
Bag the HPI air cleaner and get a big one. And a radio with more adjustability.

I pulled my RC10GT filter off which is bigger(i cleaned it first and re-0iled), and I put my JR XR3 FM Receiver and transmitter in it, I am thinking the servos too but I'll have to see if they fit. Is there a way to get a longer receiver antenna for my receiver it's not long enough. I got it used with the RC10GT and I think the guy cut it.

Ok Cool, I am probably going to sell the XR3 to my friend who got a RS4 too. And I will get a DX2 or 3. I'll just get that fixed and it'll be good.

I'd stay with the carbon fiber vs. aluminum. The thing to look for is the amount of layers rather than overall thickness. Companies such as Vertigo Performance make 32 layer composite CF that is extremely srtrong.

So the Carbon Fiber is lighter and stronger than Woven Graphite and aluminum?

Yes, that's what I used from the transmission out to the diffs. I also eliminated the dogbones with cvd's out to all four wheels. They were MIP brand.
got paint?
