Long Vs. Short Travel
#26
Yeah... makes sense. I understand it was a noob protector, but I kind of thought it would serve more than just that purpose.

Wink me too.

If you can remove it and have it work fine, and it saves some weight, or makes it easier to work on, all more the better.

I dont think I am going to worry too much about weight. I am going to go titanium where I can but where I go aluminum it will probably end up heavier than stock. Oh well, for now I will leave it on and then whatever happens from there happens.

only reason i havent bought any is because i want to try the new traxxas setback arm when it comes out. You can tune the wheelbase of your truck in just seconds. Might be something very helpfull for racing.

If anyone wants the Flextek arms let me know. I get a great price on them. My buddy Dan Gavere is their driver and he runs my CF battery tray/tank mount.

flextek's look cool. I won't be getting any though, I don't break the plastic arms that much (maybe 2 ever)

I will however be getting the traxxas setback arms when they come out.

leave the steering brace on if you like, mine is on at the moment.

FreeRide, I hope you don't feel that this dialogue veered too far away from your original question about LT rockers. We kind of got off on a "general Revo mod" subject that drifted into the arms and steering area of the truck. I hope the details of that was helpful info you can use as a new Revo owner. Any debate of arm type or pricing of them is perhaps a subject for a new thread? In fact Mich and I had a very nice PM exchange about the use of setscrews to prevent changes to pillow ball settings on the arms. Maybe that type of data would interest you (and others).

So, in respect to your thread, sorry if my input on the steering block mod hindered your getting a simple answer. It kind of took off from there. If the links from ORC, and the posts that followed were good info to you, please put the info to good use.

IMO a thread that follows along a general topic (in this case "mods that a new Revo owner might benefit from") is good if it keeps moving in a positive direction (with an occasional joke thrown in, right Tex!) that helps the person who asked in the first place. Sharing info found in other boards/forums is also helpful because maybe the guy who asked doesn't know about all the other places info can be found, aside from the manufacturer's site.

No no... it's cool. I now know that I love the LT rockers for backyard crawling ad the P1's for all around. I also know that I am looking into a set of P2 aluminum rockers for a more track oriented vehicle.

I know not to remove the steering stop but just shave it.

And I learned of Ti arms that I knew nothing about. Time to PM Satoch...

And if a mod want to change the title of this to a general mods list that is cool. If that is done I will try to edit my original post every now and then to let people know what mods are talked about on what page and what posts.
