Blagobitch is at it again... As of Nov 1, 11 of your favorite parks will be closed for good...
Lowden
Castle Rock
Kickapoo (and all parks related)
Weldon (Clinton Lake)
WolfCreek (Lake Shelbyville)
Channohan state park
etc...
Each of these parks are in districts apposed to Fago...I mean Blago... If you go to the park itself there are petitions available to be signed. The Gov states that these closings are do to budget cuts yet, Kickapoo is a cash cow for the state (brings in way more money than it cost). Not only will these closing suck just do to the loss of good hiking/biking/canoeing/camping but, it will kill the economy in several of these areas. Being from Kickapoo area I can tell you, Vermillion county only exists because of that park system and the tourism that it brings in.
