The Official Crawler Thread - bubbacola - 03-04-2008 I talked to a few guys last fall about putting in the rock crawling area. If you still want to help please get a hold of me. Thanks Bernie The Official Crawler Thread - Jetboat - 03-04-2008 I PM'd you with my contact info, give me a call and we can discuss what your looking to do/put into it and what kind of help you are looking for. The Official Crawler Thread - bubbaracing - 03-04-2008 I'm all for helping Bernie and you building a crawling area at LHR, I talked to Bernie about building it so LMK. I'd like to help build it with you guy's! The Official Crawler Thread - Jetboat - 03-04-2008 I figured if he gets back to me in time we could bring it up at the meeting, maybe even setup something where a few of us could get together and look the area over and plan things out. A course designed and built by crawlers is ALLOT better than something made by people that dont know what a crawler is.... Look at how successful HT Napervilles course has been...Built by Crawlers for Crawlers. I would imagine LH has a larger area to play with and a little more money to put into it (not that it should cost allot). The only drawback will be that its outside and thus realy only usable for 4-5 months a year. Im loving all these man made courses being built.... it will never replace good natural formations but when you live in flatsville its nice. The Official Crawler Thread - bubbaracing - 03-04-2008 Yep I hear ya! Bernie said he's got a huge pile of rocks from when LHR was built to use so that shouldn't be a problem there and I can round up more rocks and whatever else we would need to add to it! It'll be nice to have a nice outdoor course for the club to use! :joy: LMK if ya want to meet with Bernie cause i'd like to be there to talk about it with ya both and look over what he's got to work with and how big of an area he's gonna let us use? I'm off of work this week so anytime this week would be fine with me, and i'm going to be up by the track during the day the rest of the week so I can run by if you get a hold of him? He'll be there for racing Wed night so I could stop by before dark to check things out with ya two? Thanks! Matt The Official Crawler Thread - bubbacola - 03-05-2008 I'll be at the track after ten tomorrow til ten at night. Stop by if you like. The Official Crawler Thread - Jetboat - 03-05-2008 Im not going to be able to make it, its a pretty decent drive for me to just stop by... The Official Crawler Thread - MX_KEVIN - 03-05-2008 I guess Im the New crawler guy here...I picked up an AX-10 to mess around with. The little one and I will be tearing shit up at a rack pile near you!!! The Official Crawler Thread - Rob Kass - 03-05-2008 I see thet same crawler or the rtr version initially in my near future..........Dang RC addiction. The Official Crawler Thread - Jetboat - 03-05-2008 Rob, dont get the RTR version....its more of a WK than a crawler.... I just spoke to Bernie from LHR, they have a rather large area they are wanting to do and they are open (and looking for) input from the crawler comunity. We will discuss it at the meeting Saturday, Im looking for 2-3 guys to go down with me Sunday morning to look over the area and discuss the build. It sounds like we could use the same mthod I used at my "farm" of digging out the dirt and shaping everything then laying down concrete. They have a NICE sized areafrom talking to him, sounds like about 70' across and 5-7' tall in a half moon shape. I am going to post up/send him some pics of the different course's I have built and the method I described...Lets have everyone thinking of what should be done and how we want to see it. The Official Crawler Thread - Jetboat - 03-05-2008 here are some older (about 1 yr) pics of my private crawling course...its grown and developed.... There are about 20 tons of rock in these pics (Boulders are expensive too!!!!) And the backside that you cant see in the pics: The pics in the last method are how I would like to see 80% of the LHR course built... its a decent amount of work but, it crawls allot better, you dont break as many parts and to be 100% honest....its cheaper than buying boulder. A link to pics from the HT course while it was under construction jshirley78/HT course - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting The Official Crawler Thread - Ponch - 03-05-2008 I should be ok to swing by on Sunday morning, it's about a 15 minute drive from here (naana naanabooboo lol) The Official Crawler Thread - bubbaracing - 03-05-2008 I'm pretty sure I can come by LHR Sun with ya so LMK what time y'all will be there? I might be able to pick up some good size boulders if needed? The Official Crawler Thread - Ponch - 03-09-2008 Welp, since I (we) never got a time Jeff... I'm just going to show up at opening (8am) and see when ya show up lol. I will have the crawler with me too, not sure if there'll be anywhere to run it but hey pits bashing is always cool lol. The Official Crawler Thread - bubbaracing - 03-09-2008 Jeff said 10am, i'll be there! The Official Crawler Thread - Ponch - 03-09-2008 Ahh, cool. Musta missed that. Thanks matt! Bringing the crawler? The Official Crawler Thread - bubbaracing - 03-09-2008 Yep i'm bring my crawler too, but gotta go pick up my radio which I left at my buddies shop! The Official Crawler Thread - J-Dub - 03-10-2008 lol...everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. That stuff is too slow and boring, and not loud for me.
