Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Mr. Tune - 09-01-2005

rocco, that'll be enough for now. That is until I release my next secret weapon. Need a hint at what it is? Lets just say, it's (IMO) the biggest advantage a truggy has over my revo.

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Tex - 09-01-2005

center diff

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Mr. Tune - 09-01-2005

lol, while maintaining the 2 speed Smile

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - satoch - 09-01-2005

Tune, you can't seriously be putting in a center diff! I've seen that thread on the Traxxas site also but that guy lost his rear brakes. I'd go with a rear extended Revo chassis and a custom 2 brake setup with adjustable bias. Then strap in a big block. Hmmmm.....

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Mr. Tune - 09-01-2005

brakes are overrated Smile

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Tex - 09-01-2005

brakes are over rated like tunes says and simply put, the best thing you could do for a revo is a center diff IMO. I don't see how you do it with only rear brakes Bruce, I'd rather have just front brakes. (I've had both in the past, only rears, and only fronts)

come to think of it wouldn't you have to race unlimited at DD's races?

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - cemeb4dk - 09-01-2005

YEs if there is a center diff.

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - bigjs - 09-01-2005

so center diff is what seperates the unlimited (truggy) from monster truck?

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Mr. Tune - 09-01-2005

for the most part, yes. It's the single biggest advantage for the truggies. Enough advantage to put them in their own class IMO.

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - bigjs - 09-01-2005

does the mammoth ST have a center diff? I noticed its a two speed, seems most other truggys are single.

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - SixVi6-Camaro - 09-01-2005

NO thus far in a truggy usually its 2 speed with no diff or single speed with a diff. that may change because I've heard of the future Ofna Truggy that will have both a 2 speed and center diff.

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Tex - 09-01-2005

hey George (or anyone that knows), if I have a truggy with a 2-speed (no center diff) will I run in outlaw or st mt?

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - cemeb4dk - 09-01-2005

Tex,

SO I understand your ?, You Have a truggy with a transmission?

After the gear trail issue the rules default to height of the base of the engine, With wheels off and suspension completely compressed if it is more than 1.5" off the ground it is a standard MT. (basiclly a non pan chassis)

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - bigjs - 09-01-2005

so what does this mean for the mammoth ST?

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - SixVi6-Camaro - 09-01-2005

Mammoth ST would be a truggy. basically anything that is on a flat chassis will be in the truggy class regardless of it being center diff or 2 speed of any kind.

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - cemeb4dk - 09-01-2005

The mammoth St is a truggy to my understanding, Although I have not teched one to see it. Doesnt it have a diff in the center, I thought it was based off the buggy?

I know Kevin ran the hell out of his ST, but I am a fan of the larger and wider truggies. From personal experience in truggies from a K2 truggy-k2/native truggy-LSP. Teh longer wheelbase makes a huge difference, in handling. You have to ask yourself why are all the companies makeing their new truggies longer and wider(ofna, msr, hotbodies). The Mayhem looks to be based off the SUT idea of a truggy. When GS first cam out with it, it was winning everywhere, then the longer and wider ones came out and the SUT fell off the map. Now to compete GS just came out with a longer chassis. GS's pro drivers even run the longer native arms.

Once again not knocking Kevins Mayhem or anyone elses just my opinion

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - rocco79 - 09-02-2005

The mammoth has to run truggy to the fact that its motor isnt 1.5'' from the groung at where it mounts to the engine mount

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - Tex - 09-02-2005

thanks for the info guys, I wasn't sure about that one. SO....if ANY truck has a center diff or the motor is below 1.5 inches it automatically runs outlaw.....cool

Great News!!! New Sponsorship!!!!! - rocco79 - 09-02-2005

Tex... alk to Jesse wilkohmen on the grid... That guy ia s revo nut... I talked to him alittle about how the rules applied to trucks. He seemed to have a good grasp of them and the loop holes too!!!
