That is nuts! I wonder how stock that thing was? The other trucks were not jumping half as high as the LST......were they the same truck? They looked different. Maybe I will have to go with the lst2. Unbelievable!

LST Vs. Savage? - rocco79 - 02-20-2006

At first i was unimpressed... UNTILL i saw that truck take some horrible landings... I dont know if the extremley soft ground was savin that guy or not but that LST@ looks to be a much improved version!!!!

Id still buy a savage thoughCool Cool Cool

Another thing to add...

What about local hobby shop support? Does your hobby shop contain more savage parts or lst2 parts? How much of the lst and lst2 parts are shared? Having the best truck out there won't do you squat if you gotta order your parts online and wait for them all the time.

My only concern with the Savage X is that it's too new to really say how good it's going to be. But, if it's anything like the other Savage's available it should be tough as nails, but much easier to wrench on. The LST2 also seems like a very good truck and even though the initial price is high ($589.00) you do get a really good RTR package IMO.

me too

LST Vs. Savage? - rocco79 - 02-20-2006

I dont think the other guys were "testing" the way the guy with the lst2 was....

As for the Savage X.... Theres no WAY the truck will be any less tough...

Savage + Easier to work on = Tons of fun with easy up keep and an extremley durable ride.

Besides any day at the track / bash spot there will be alot more savages there. That helps with set-up tips and if you do manage to break something . Another basher/ racer will more than likey have the part you need. That way you day at the track / construction site wont be cut short.

LST Vs. Savage? - thenewguy821 - 02-22-2006

The first video that I had posted with the LST2, was completely stock. Everything in the chassis is interchangable with the original LST, the Suspension arms and out (Arms, Axles, rims, c-hubs) are all LST2 specific. The inner part of the suspension arms are the same, the outer are thicker, to support a wider c-hub, which in turn supports a thicker axle, which in turn runs a larger wheel hex.....

The original LST would have been sidelined the first landing that didn't bring the truck down on all 4 wheels at the same time. The original arms were very brittle if you landed on only 2 or 1 wheel from a decent sized jump.

The Savage that was running in the video was running insanely Rich, so don't judge the speed of the trucks by what was seen in the video. NO engine should ever be run that rich, it puts too much stress on the con-rod, and other internals.

Another quick note, the Savage 3 speed, which claims higher speeds, really only adds a little low end punch, and a smoother transition through the gears to top speed. The 3rd gear ratio is the same as the 2 speed version, so there is no change in top speed. (This is according to a thread I read a while back after the 3-speed was changed, so HPI may have changed that.)

10% on the high and 10% on the low....
