Yeah, I got the 2.5 and then the next day I hear about the 3.3, lol. I'm gonna stick with the 2.5 for a little bit and wait for reviews from those who get the first run 3.3's. I'm gonna put a gallon or 2 on this motor and then pull it and keep it for use as a backup motor. Gives me some time to save up some cash for the 3.3. By then I'll now if lots of people are having problems or tearing it up at the tracks Smile.

where should my roll center be? i think that its lower in the rear and im not sure about the front?

general revo discussion - Mr. Tune - 02-26-2006

My roll center is set at the top holes for both front and rear.

general revo discussion - Tex - 02-26-2006

I do upper front and rear but some people do rear/lower - front/upper

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-26-2006

yea i just looked on the traxxas site. slayden is running lower in rear... thanks guys

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-26-2006

for some reason it doesnt feel like im getting my full potenital out of my steering. i have all of the mods done. could it be my servo? im running the JR 650m

general revo discussion - Sh1nn3r - 02-26-2006

What diff oils you running? You have a long enough servo arm? What tires?

general revo discussion - Ponch - 02-26-2006

Shinner, he's got stock oil, pretty long servo arm, and cut bowties on hurricanes.

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-26-2006

umm i have 30k f 10k r and i have a decent sized servo horn and cut bowties on hurricanes. hopefully ill be able to get some work in and buy some responses

general revo discussion - Ponch - 02-26-2006

John when did you get 30/10?

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-26-2006

since i got spek

general revo discussion - Ponch - 02-26-2006

Oooooh. Ok.

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-26-2006

yea wat about the thingie that goes on the servo horn not sure what its called. should i lengthen that?

general revo discussion - Ponch - 02-26-2006

That wouldn't really do anything....Did you trim the servo guard yet?

general revo discussion - thenewguy821 - 02-26-2006

I was working with 30k/10k in the diffs, with the steering stop removed, and Hitec 5945 servo. I tried the roll center change (Front=upper rear=lower) and did not like the handling difference. It seemed like the truck would try to traction roll a little in the turns. I went back to upper/upper, and changed my diffs to 30k/7k and it seems to be turning a lot better (No more push in the corners)

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-27-2006

revo- the horn doesnt hit the guard. im not meaning the steering when the truck is on the track its when i have it on the ground and turn the wheel it doesnt go full lock to lock.
newguy-i liked the change from 30k to 10k. im not sure where my rear roll center was because i had changed it so many times i just cant remember. hopefully i will be running again soon and will be able to try some different setups thanks guys

general revo discussion - snakebite46 - 02-27-2006

Try lower holes in the front for roll center and upper in the rear.

general revo discussion - Michowski - 02-27-2006

front upper rear lower.

general revo discussion - Tex - 02-27-2006

yep like mich said for less weight shift towards the rear (keeps the nose down more) and better steering supposidly.

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-27-2006

thanks guys. i was going to throw my 2.5r back in my truck to try some stuff out but then i realized that i had a partially broken arm and that i would put it all back to take it all apart cause im getting some more hop-ups over the weekend..... plus i would like to burn the rest of the fuel that i have left...i guess it would be something to play with at a later time lol

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 03-06-2006

ok so i have my 3.3 on the way. and i have the fuel i want to run(trinity platinum 30%) what kind of upgrades should i get tomorrow? i need a front arm so thats like $7 and i have $40. all of the upgrades i have are in my sig. i was thinking about the larger flywheel. does this do anything but make it easier to start on my rd box?

oh yea i will have more $$ by saturday but idk if i could make it to lh and be able to get stuff on by sunday to race...so im pretty much open to any ideas. and reasons for the upgrades would be nice to ie how it makes the truck handle better, faster, stronger w/e

general revo discussion - Ponch - 03-06-2006

That's about all it does...Hmm...I'd get some alu. hexes...And just save the rest for now...

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 03-06-2006

i dont need alum hexes i dont break them often.

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 03-06-2006

what shock pistons are people running?

general revo discussion - Tex - 03-06-2006

stock pistons in my shocks, and you are correct AL hexes are a waste of money I've never had a problem with my stock ones.
