God, I hope the shoes are OK.....maybe if he tied them they wouldn't have come off.
But on the other hand, maybe it was like in a car wreck, the parts flying off helped to dissapate the energy, thereby saving his ass.

Overall a pretty good X-Games. What I want to know is how he fell 50 feet and bruised his liver...... I jumped 25 feet and fell about 15 feet down and lacerated mine. Granted I hit the bars but STILL. I am absolutely amazed at how relatively un-injured he was. Pros know how to fall I guess......

its just physics, once ur in free fall u cant apply a torque because there nothing to grab onto or push back against u. u can twist ur body but u cant make urself move in any direction other than the one ur falling in

I mean theoretically, yes it WILL work because you can push air (aka a fan, etc) but your arms aren't fan blades so they're not going to do much.
