i might try that, but ive heard that top fuel is hard to tune, i might also try byrons 25%

switching fuels - Michowski - 02-22-2006

it did nothing but wake up my 2.5r when i tried it. Keeping it intune wasnt a problem at all.

switching fuels - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-22-2006

mich have you tried Top Fuel 20%? Im not sure if I want to jump all the way up to 30% If I don't like it I wont be able to go back down.

switching fuels - Michowski - 02-22-2006

I wont run anything under 30% after trying 30%. 20% was ok but once i put any brand 30% in i got cooler temps, more power, overall a lot better engine. 20% is a waste of money IMO. 30% is were its at.

switching fuels - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-22-2006

ok, ill probally try that next time, i just got a gallon of 20 not too long ago though Sad

switching fuels - Mr. Tune - 02-22-2006

Mike, they sell trinity platinum 30% at al's. That what's I run and that's where I buy it from Smile.

switching fuels - kevinF - 02-22-2006

whats a good plug to run with platinum 30% in the trx 2.5

switching fuels - Michowski - 02-22-2006

mccoy 59 or mccoy 9. Ive had luck with both of them and there both a hot and cold plug.

switching fuels - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-22-2006

i havent had any luck with the mccoy 59 maybe it was just my tuning but the last one i had only lasted about a tank....

switching fuels - Tex - 02-22-2006

it was your tuning.... I run mc59s and they last gallons, occasionally I'll have a problem but thats with any plug when the tuning isn't perfect.

switching fuels - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-22-2006

yeah, mine usually last a long time in the 2.5 with the MC59. For a while they were going like crazy but my tune was a little to rich.

switching fuels - kevinF - 02-22-2006

yeah when I used top fuel 20% I used the traxxas plugs and they lasted me about 1 gallon.

switching fuels - BottledBeast - 02-23-2006

all i use are mccoy 59 or q-series..mccoy for cold weather and q-series when its hot out...and i switched to top fuel33% and ill never go back to 20%.like said before the 20% is a wast of money 30% is the way to go.

switching fuels - FreeRideFrosty - 02-23-2006

Putting my vote for Tinity Platinum 30% in. I ran McCoy 59's in my Traxxas motor and have run about 4 different plugs in my .21 VZ-B now. I get a different answer from everyone so I have no idea what plug to run. :-(

switching fuels - Tex - 02-23-2006

A VZB takes a short plug (FOR SURE, I had one)

You need a OS plug like an A5 or A3 or better yet the R5

switching fuels - Tex - 02-23-2006

That link says nothing about the normal VZB, only the v-spec (which is a turbo VZB)....Thanks for trying Dave.

switching fuels - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-23-2006

I know....I was just giving Dan another resource to read up on!

All this nitro stuff is soooo confuzzling. I'm switching over to electric. Is there an electric UMT out there? Big Grin

Yes! a gorillamaxx emaxx or a bomb proof chassis emaxx. Both are pan chassis for emaxxs

And thanks Gabe.
