Yeah, I remember cheering him on too....but I was like, Damn, Not again! after the third time he got turned sideways in pit lane, 10 feet from his pit guy...
he was running good too, battling it out for 1st or 2nd if I remember right....

I was a spectator there on Friday Evening. I thought it was great. As a spectator, I felt a little bit un-informed at certain points - there was no "program" booklet that could have had a schedule, race facts, and advertisements in it.

Pro Series Finals - Tex - 11-22-2006

It's going to take some transitioning for the announcers to adjust to having spectators who may know nothing about the hobby. The announcers are used to just anouncing for the racers (who know everything that's going on).

The night you went was the first actual spectator RC Race ever. Sure there is a few spectators that come out to a local track and watch but to actually sell tickets in a stadium and worry about announcing to "fans", Friday nov.10th was the first.

Well if there is anything you have questions on, even if you feel it might be a dumb question, please ask away. That's what we are here for Smile

You've also got to take into consideration that being "first of its kind" type of event, there may or may not have been some things that were thought about. Carlton laid his azz on the line shelling out money to put this event on, and I don't believe he broke even. I don't know if programs were considered or not, but that would have been another expense that would have deepend the hole Carlton was in. Plus, if he would have had programs made (which I think would have been a great idea), then you have to figure out what its going to cost the spectator, and are they going to consider it enough of a necessity to buy it. Kinda the ol' theory of supply and demand. Again, it is an idea that can be emailed to Carlton, so that he's got that in mind for future events.

Pro Series Finals - Tex - 11-22-2006

After figuring hard numbers in my head, entry fees + vendor booths + spectator tickets - rent for the stadium= $20,000 short.

Pro Series Finals - rocco79 - 11-22-2006
