Honda Accord 4cyl, big enough for your fam, reliable and really decent gas mileage
lincoln LS SmileSmile
Actually, 2006 Caravan, Town and Country has one recall. F10 wiper motor.
Still pretty good though, when was that recall done btw? This new van was bought in Aug '06 so it may be too new for that recall.
For a 'grocery getter' I think in the 20's is a pretty good number. mid to High 20's. Can't get much better than that without getting a 'Small' car.

You're really not going to find something that has space and room for hauling and what not without sacrificing something.

One more time.... Scion Xb has tons of room and will get 35+ mpg. The difference between "20's" and 35 is HUGE. (My GTI gets 20's when I drive sane and it is costing me on average about 15 cents every mile I drive since it takes premium.....)

Well I know it has alot of space for people. But I mean if its a family vehicle it might be used for a little more than just transportation. My Grandma misses her minivan because she used to get random stuff from menards or home depot and stuff. But thats only thing I meant saying a grocery getter. ^__^
Now that makes me want to see how many people we can fit in my friend's. Haha It has a pretty decent sized area behind the rear seats if I remember correctly. I think we can easily cram double the people in that than a VW bug. LoL
I remember at the 04 or 05 auto show that was a main selling point; Space.

I think they said you had to be around 7'3" to not have leg room or head room. Plus the factory installed upgrades, such as ground effects, sound.
Yeah. I am 6'3 and I drown in the thing. My buddy is short and we laugh because he can just about stand up in it if he tilts his head to the side. Hahaha
I think the XB looks too much like a school-bus for my tastes. I like the Xa though it looks decent. I'd much prefer a rounded car hatchback, than a box, but that's just my opinion
Hey that Xb is one mean toaster.
I'm looking for a new ride myself. I'm sick and tired of dropping $60 into my tank and lucky if I can go 300 miles on it. Too much damn money, especially since work is 60 miles round trip. I carpool, and still manage to average 18Kmiles a year.

I'm going to go test drive a mazdaspeed 3 tonight...
Dam Tune, its an awesome car. I have the stock Mazda 3 although its the sp version, let me know if you want to drive mine. Also its not going to be the best fuel efficient vehicle. Mine average between 275-300 miles per tank and its a 12 gal tank. The speed you will have to use premium due to the turbo and you will get less mpg.

But mine is 2 years old and I have had zero issues with mine. My rims did start to rust but mazda replaced them no questions asked. One bit advice if you are at the dealers table see if you can get them to swap the RSA tires if they come stock on it, they are horrible.

Any other 3 questions shoot me a pm or email me.

We still have Dad's, My Sister's, and my own Cherokee's for most of that kind of stuff.
Yeah.... my buddy just got a mazdaspeed 3. He gets about the same mileage I am (250-300 a tank) but being premium it makes up for any savings real quick....

275-300 on 12 gallons ain't bad. My truck gets about 325 on 20 gallons lol
How about considering the Mazda 5 or Kia Rondo, those are cars with a third row seat. The Mazda 5 looks like a mini-minivan with dual rear sliders and room for 6. The Kia has traditional open rear doors but with room for 7. Both a wagon-types and can have the third row folded or stowed and both are 4 bangers so you should get high 20's low 30's MPG with both. Actually the Mazda 5 will be our next family vehicle coming up. Consumers Guide rated it a Best Buy.
