I thought it would be a good idea to poste my attempt at building a budget truggy for the upcoming outdoor race season. Here goes.

I recently found a used TTR ST-1 Rolling chassis that was barely used for $200 shipped which was a good deal, so this will be the platform for my budget truggy. I recieved it and it needed a little cleaning up and some TLC but was in excellent shape. *note make use of the flavor of the month phenom in this hobby to your advantage, people always want the latest and greatest and will part with something they might not have had good luck with. Doesn't mean it's bad just maybe they had some bad luck or just want whats new. In any case do research and make sure you have someone around to help you with builds and that you can get parts. IMO its mostly drivers that make products look good.

I am in the process of cleaning and oiling the Diffs i will post pics when i am finished with this.

so the money tally so far is $200.00 usd
good luck with the build, keep us informed of progress and total cost....

good thread Smile
well the build is in a holding pattern until i get the thicker diff fliuds i ordered. Truggy needs the thicker center diff wich i never needed when running buggy. Pics will be up tomorrow it's very late here
LOL goto bed man
That was 30k in there, was told to put it in there from mike. I forget what the front and rear were.
Heres what i got done so far. stripped, cleaned. front and rear diff emptied cleaned and refilled, and partally reasembled. I had to order the diff oil from amain so i went ahead and ordered the wheels and tires.
ofna white half offset wheels (4)-$18.49
Proline holeshot mtr tires (4)-47.98
its hard to find a better deal than ofna wheels i really like tham and they are cheap. Tires are kinda pricey, but its the only part that touches the race surface so it's kinda important to get actuall race tires some kits come with them.

So that bring the total up to-$266.47

that thing look ssweet!
Loookin' good Joe
Looks cool. What engine are you considering?
if its a buget build use a Mach engine ... Mach .26 or .28. Cheap and fast
or the sportwerks .26 (one in the same as mach)
+1
$119 at Amain? I know of two that are using it right now in their mugens and they like'em.
how bout that B3 Wink
Alittle more. Like $180ish?

And I doubt that would do good outdoor. I dont plan to run it when we go outside.
i was looking at the picco turbo .28 but i will look at the sportwerks .26
Obessive has the novarossi 528 3 port for sale. Maybe he can hook you up....
why is that funny?
