Come on Rocco's wallet, thinkof it, we can race off orad and on road at lh... Shit we can make a rally cross track and set up some schweet jumps, and now I know other s have them so if we build it they will come.
LOL!!! Oh god...
Sweet, two more joining the fun, it just makes it that much more likely to have our own class at LH too! Big Grin

Drove it around for a couple tanks and shredded the 2nd gear Sad

So....I was wanting the option gears anyway, but I dont think they sell any different spur gears, right? They only sell the optional pinions?
I noticed that the stock pinions are 14t / 17t for a 3 tooth difference and above you say 15/19 is the op gearing with a 4 tooth difference, if I understand things right, that wouldnt mesh with the stock spurs?

I see that they do sell a 15 and 18 which would be a 3 tooth difference like stock, so how would anyone use the 19 if they dont sell different spurs?
I think the 19T would work fine. For instance with CB's in buggies, you can use anything from 13T to 17T with the same spur, etc....

The problem is that the 1st and 2nd gears are on the same clutch bell and the 1st and 2nd spurs are on the same shaft where the center diff would normally be.
So....if you change one you have to change the other if you know what I mean. If one set is a 3 tooth difference, then other set has to be the same or the mesh wouldnt be right between the two sets.

That short video is great! The little car on the track looks to be running for it's life! Get three or four of those Infernos on that track and you couldn't pass...kinda like indoor go-karts!

It won't be a tooth count relationship, it will be a gear root diameter difference relationship that has to be maintained.
1st gear ends up meshing with a slight more gap and 1st but it won't hurt anyhitng. I ran it for a qhile on mine before I went back to single speed. I just coupldn't get used to the solid center diff handling and loss of brake bais. Plus the engine moves out nicely mid and top end.

Well I ordered a new spur set, 15/18 pinions and real engine mounts with plates.

What gear combo are you using with your single speed setup? I may end up going this route someday too. What little time I drove the car, I found it prone to spinning out when accelerating out of a turn and a center diff would probably fix that problem.
I'm running a 44t spur and 16-18t CB depending on the engine.

Center diff totally fixes the overly sensitive rearend. I changed all kinds of suspension settings but was still not happy with the 2 speeds performance. now with the center diff it pulls very smoothly out of the corners and much better braking wiht the adjustable brake bias too.

I posted a pic of my center diff setup on the GT forum...
