New can back!

Let me know what you think.

Additional pics, Jim and I can't decide to leave the back open, closed or install a window. When it comes to video time the wireless drivers camera can be hidden nicely.

Here is the electronic end of the truck, looks like a massive maze of wires. Really, just a bunch of hack electronics in order to get the Jim truck moving in the comp. The ESC's are currently in the way of proper fitment of the body. As you can see in the above pics the body was elevated. That should soon change soon as Jim plans to order some tiny LRP Runner A1 waterproof escs. Really they are the only thing that will survive the submarine action this truck will soon see.

More progress today...

Jims dad came out to help work on the truck today. He's built like Danny Devito, he helped Jim trim the rocker panels down.

After cutting the rockers off they trimmed off the factory body mounts.

They went back to work sanding the rockers smooth.

The bed sides have some holes and slots left in them from the giant ricer spoiler that used to mount there.

Not having any JB weld in the shop Jim called his neighbor Clark.

Jim: Yo Clark you wouldn't happen to have any JB weld I could use would you?
Clark: Sure I have some half used tubes in the garage you can have, I'll be right over.

Jim: Hey, thanks for bringing some out Clark, all the hardware stores are closed.

Clark: No problem, The truck looks to be coming along great.

Jim:Yeah she's got 35" Boggers with a 6 inch lift, I hope to one day go on a big week long offroad expedition.

Clark: Gotta go guys!

Jim: Clarks a nice guy, but I think he must shop for clothes at The Salvation Army or something.
Dan: Yeah, he was dressed sort of odd.
Jim: He never hangs around much either.
Dan: Lets mix up some JB.

Dan: There, all done now we just have to wait for it to dry.

More later....
hahaha, this is great
where do you get all this time to do that
LOL! I love it....

I gotta say the amount of "action figures" you have its starting to alarm me! LOL J/k!!!!
very sweet little show going on here cant wait for more
On this edition of TRUCKS..................
lotta time on your hands huh???????????? lol
how many coats of paint does jim have on that shell!
wow that sure is amazingConfusedalute:
Jim sanded the JB weld down.

It looks good, it will just need a little spot putty.

Now for the hardest part of converting these bodys for jero use. Relocating the fender flare back.

Rough cut
[Image: IM000927.jpg]

After another cut and sanding.

Tacked with thin CA
[Image: IM000938-1.jpg]

I did this one different then the last one. On the red truck I seperated the fender and filled in a 1/4 slot in the middle. I'm hoping that leaving it all one piece would be more durable

The truck has some Ca + dead skin marks on it that I'm going to have to sand off. I've gotten that stuff in my eye before to. I was glueing a rim together when I shoved it together. Slam! the stuff sprayed everywhere nailed me in the eye, I had my sunglasses on to. However, the stuff seeps into cracks well which is what I need for this project.

I'm trying some new Clear JB 2 part epoxy I picked up at harbor freight. If you have not noticed the JB weld package says nothing about using it for plastics. Which may be why I have had so many issues with is sticking to plastic.

Jim: French, Spanish, Swedish Oh here we go rough the plastic up.

The epoxy looked like spit, or something else and smelled really funky. So I took care of the rest.

More later...
Some crazy stuff there....
Lol
Dropped some stuff off at Ricks.
Well Rick came over to test the fitment of the bumper. It's still a work in progress.

Jim, I have some new tires.

NO WAY!! Swampers!! Yeeeaahaah!

Man, Rick look at the lugs freakin awesome.

They compare to the boggers nicely.

They came with these mean looking paddles.

They came as part of this offroad 4 pack."thumbsup"

Jim has a big collection of tires now.
