This build up is too cool!! What brand truck is that? Tamiya?
The chassis is a Tamiya Pajero, the kit was discontinued last year but the just released Tourag kit has the same chassis. The body I took from my first Radio Shack truck. The different tires I found at a toy store.
this is great, im glad i waited, took like 10 min to download all the pics (dial up sucks!) keep them coming.
Jim continued work on the steering system today. I flopped the truck on its roof to allow easier access.

After removing the worn out parts Jim thought of ways to soak up the slop in the linkage post.

Thats when the teflon tape idea shot to his head. He used it to take up the looseness caused by poor machining on his custom bearing supported linkage post.

He slid the slop free post back into place
[Image: IM000737.jpg]

He inspected the worn Tierod he removed yesterday.

He found that the stock end was rubbing away on the skid plate.

He found the little Traxxas ends left over from my Clod build up.

New vs. Old
[Image: IM000729a.jpg]

He reassembled the tierod ends and drag link and put them back into place.

I helped him button up the rest of the truck so he could start adapting the wheels.

Jim dropped the wheel hex into position after centering it with a stub axle and placing a drop of ca.

He then started mixing up some JB Weld.

He welded the wheel hub in place.

He was exhausted after all this work so he got tired and went to the Bruiser.

More Later...
This is AWESOME!!! I love it and keep it coming. After it is all done someone will need to make one long post of just the pics and then sticky it. (Thatway you can see it straight through.

this is kool.....keep it coming. at the end you should make a video of him drivivng it around outside
just keeps getting better......and i also think u should make a vid of it after all done
Now I'm in suspense I need to know whats going to happen to Jim
Jim and I got a good start on the sliders and slid 2 wheels on today.
Cmon Jim get too work! LOL!!!
Well Jim started on the interior today.

He layed down a trick rubber floor mat
[Image: IM000760.jpg]

He started work on cushy center counsel arm rest.

By the time I went to grab a soda, Jim had the arm rest done.

He then hauled these parts out of the shop drawer. I was like what are you making?

Yeah right, very funny Jim

Hearing fake vroom vroom car noises Jane, the neighborhood girl decided to stopped in.

Jim described the things that went on this week.

While Jane was looking for a place for the seatbelt retracters to go. Jim was carrying the steering wheel to the next bench.

Jim was distracted
[Image: 1e38d9e5.jpg]

(Jane) "Were you checking me out, Jim?"

(Jim) "Urmm nooo, ok You caught me"

(Jane) "Thats cool I guess, I have to leave, well I have dinner baking in the oven want to come over?"

More later, Jim still isn't back yet...
player player! its a good thing shes good with seatbelts cause she looks like a wild ride! lol
Lol!!!!!!!
lol dude thats pretty good.
Jim decided It was time to upgrade to some high quality Baer brakes. The electronic drive train brakes just didn't give him the control he wanted. Plus the rotors came free with the limited edition MT/R's I found at the store. I had to help him machine some of the rotor away with my mill so that it fit perfectly on the hub.

After removing the wheel he fit the rotor on and mounted the caliper into position.

(Jane) Hey Jim
[Image: bcba17cf.jpg]
(Jim) Hey Baby
[Image: eaad8222.jpg]

(Jane) Well I came by to drop off your jacket. I figured you might get cold working on the floor.

(Jim) Cool thanks
(Jane) Well, I better get going, so you can get back to work, come on over again tonight.
(Jim) Sweet, talk to you later.

Anyways Jim finished up the brakes and remounted the tire.

Mounted and ready
[Image: dc351945.jpg]

After finshing the wheel he went to work sanding the body after he primed it.

He noticed the bad bedliner and went to work ripping it out. After tearing up one layer he realised that there was two layers. Extra weight that was unneeded. He said he was aiming for a spray in liner. But, soon after ripping the liner out he found there was to much CA glue all over. So I guess he will be putting a new drop in back in.

Jim finished sanding and decided to take a quick break before supper.
