I have a RB9863...
9863 would give it even more torque. +1 to Roccos pipe suggestions.
Finished fabrcating the linkages, got the electronics wired and adjusted, mounted the exhaust and set up the alignment. I think it's ready to go. Hopefully I can get it out still today and give it a couple of shakedown runs.

Here are the final pics...

Wow, just keeps getting cooler and cooler
Okay...first technical problem is discovered...the Werks Racing flywheel is almost too small in diameter too catch the wheel on the starter box. This plus the engine is tight at TDC ...this is making it a real hassle to start. I got it to fire a couple of times by pre-heating the engine but now the starter box is dead. It's ready to go but I couldn't get any full revolutions off the box....so on the charger it goes. Not sure if Easter Sunday is going to work for the run in of this thing...it may have to wait until Monday.
the motor (or head at least) looks used, does it need to be broken in? Or by "run in" you mean the build as a whole?
BTW, that is the sickest revo I've ever seen. Maybe not the most durable (with a 528) but definitely the "sickest"
Not sure about how far off the side that hpi rush box hangs.... But looks nice other than that!
Jerry-

Is there anyway to "jerry rig" ( I crack myself up! LOL!!!) the wheel and motors inside the box??? Maybe put some spacers under the wheel/motor mounts to raise the wheel???

By far the sweetest revo ive seen. My 528 is a beast to start also... I have to get my starter box ( or Johns or georges! LOL!!!) running at full speed then i have to drop the flywheel down on it just to get the engine to spin a few times... Try priming it alittle by blowing into the pressure line... It seems to really help to get some fuel in and "loosen" things up.

BTW... Cemeb4dk's 528 had 5 or 6 gallons on it and it was still a beast to get running.
Tex, I meant project run-in...the motor is used but really tight...I prime all my motors prior to starting but I'm not sure where the tune is on this one. I had it spinning a couple of times just like Rocco said "letting the starter box spin at full speed" and kinda bouncing the flywheel on it and it almost fired up, the box had just been sitting for a while and didn't have a full charge in it.
I had the pleasure of seeing that revo in person this evening. WOW!!! The thing is imaculate. I was wondering about the box in back but it clears perfectly. The truck is just amazing. Heck both of his revos are amazing. I think he will enjoy knowing that he has two revos that with good driving could make the podium. I don't know which he would make the backup... Great work!!
i think he will enjoy knowing that i will be donating a revo body for the cure race to be raffled off lol revo looks great
Thanks Mike!

Thanks guys...hey Mike, congrats on the cover of R/C Car magazine (that's one of yours right?)
yeah thats mikeys handy work
thanks man
OMG...I still can't get this thing to start!!! Pre-heated it and everything....then the glow igniters both died...I can get one full revolution and a pop...then nothing...

I'm going to charge up the ignigters and try loosening the plug...but if that doesn't work I think I'll have to change out the flywheel & clutch.
That thing is awesome, good luck getting it running.
When I saw the flywheel the first thing that crossed my mind was change the flywheel and clutch. The flywheel is very small and almost looks worn... Throw a slightly bigger one on there and that sucker should fire right up...
