That was quite a while ago, I got mine from them for $210.
I've heard some rumors of Futaba and Hitec coming out with thier own complete Spektrum radios, similar to the DX3. I saw on the Hitec forum that indeed it's in the works and will probably debut at the RCX show in May.
Well I got mine yesterday. I bound the first receiver for the truggy. The antenna wire sure is short, I had to cut my antenna tube less than half way.

It's going to really be nice to not have to even look to see what frequencies are available.
well i was at lh yesterday and there selling the dx3 for $249 with both servos and an extra reciever. im going to definately support my lhs on this one.
speaking of Spektrum.. I did the M8 Spektrum mod today. I ran my 7.5 and while I was running I noticed the antena would not stand up well on it own. yeah it was broken so I read up on the XRC article on the integrated spektrum antena mod and went to work. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I just hope I don't ever have to send the spektrum in for service. I don't think they will like the mod all that much. All I have left to do is find a plug to cover up the hold left from where the original antena was mounted.

Pretty Schnazzy!
SixVi6-Camaro

Try using one of those rubber tip used to cover the fuel bottles.
Put it in backwards or the other way.

Worth a shot and looks to be about the same size.
I slapped a sticker across mine with two small holes cut out so I can still use the binding button and view the light.
I notice while thumbing through various RC magazines there are very few if any pro racers using Spektrum, why is this?
They dont sponsor anyone....
Anyone with a M11/Spektrum combination having any issues? I've seen a few reports of people with this combination having glitching issues, runaways or the failsafe not working correctly. My guess is that it's a problem in some other piece of thier combination, but the talk seems to go back to the M11 having some issues that the M8 didn't.
my m11 and spektrum have been flawless
My M11 and Spektrum has been flawless too.
Ive had some minor issues. The antenna wire on the transmitter didnt have a solid connect so I squeezed the connector tighter, snaped it on then RTVed the area to keep it from moving. All was well till I had some glitching with my xxxnt in the pit room last night, put the car on the track anyway and had no problems. Crazy Huh??
The spektrum ads in the mag's say "Now includes free 2nd receiver". So that's the new price..radio and the 2 rx's $209?

Were you sitting by the microwave?

My crappy stock MiniT radio freaks out near the wireless phone/linksys LAN router in my basement. Everywhere else it's fine.
LoL..No but I think Rocco was letting out some bad gas. . who knows
Nobody doesn't like their own brand.
If the radio and recievers have come down to about $210 what can I be looking at to pick up a reciever as I will most likely be looking for one within the next couple of weeks...
I don't believe the price of the recievers have changed.
sometimes if yout radio is too close to the car it'll glitch. Mine does that randomly but once your a few feet away or more it acts normal. It's weird cause it doesn't do it all the time only randomly.
my spektrum was glitching with the controller sitting directly next to the truck. picked it up and took a step back and gone. The radio waves need room to spread out and seak for the controller and being so close the reciever wants to do one thing while the transmittier wants to do another. Move them a few feat apart and the controller will search for the waves while the reciever sends them.

+1. Happens to me too.
Well thats good. The radio was next to the car when glitching and like I said ran great on the track. Ill let Rocco know his farts had noyhing to do woth it. Rolleyes
I thought Spektrum was glitch free? On a Spektrum/truggy note, I remember cmeb4dk saying something to the effect that the DX3 has just the basic adjustments which some may outgrow in the future. Does that really apply to the truggy craze that's going on right now? I thought I remember them using features like brake bias and things not found on the more basic radios?
