Joey are you Marines or Army? I see that your location is Brussels, so are you stationed overseas right now? My brother is a Marine, he just finished one stint in Baghdad and is stateside now, I'll see him the week after Christmas for a little while and then I think he heads back to the sandbox. I'm in the army, i fought with the marines in fallujah in november 2004, so i can wear the 1st MEF combat patch if i choose to, we blocked all the major route going into fallujah and conducted main supplie route control so no bad guys could sneek back into the city, and yeah im stationed in Brussels for the next 3 years yeah i jst got back from there at the end of april, that was my 3rd deployment in 4 years, so im trying to take it easy, hopefully they start pulling our guys out soon, its kind of nerve racking becuase i have many friends there now on thier 2nd and 3rd tours, but i can relate to them cause i just got back. Thank you for all the great posts and al the help with my revo

an ied is an improvised explosvie device, basically a fancy name for a homemade bomb , they like to use 155mm artillary rounds and hard wire the fuse to a remote and hide it along the road somewhere then try to blow you up when you drive by, and yes that is the temp, and yes we had to wear about 90 lbs of gear every day, but hey at least the truck have AC mine went out once and we had a mission before i could get it fixed and me and my driver lost so much fluids that we started getting dizzy and throwing up, had to get three IV's that day.

I should be staying here for 3 years but its the army they could always say " i know we said you didnt have to go back soon but we want you there" and theres not really anything i can do about it, just a part of the job, but i can't complain ive been places and seen things that i never would have seen and some things i never wanted to see i know i wouldnt have met my bulgarian wife or some of the great people i have met. Plus i drove almost the whole way across Europe and back pretty crazy.
