I got bored tonight so I figured this all out;

My revo weighs 7.5 lbs exactaly with komodo dragon LP's and sportmaxx rims (1/4 per wheel!)

55% of the total weight is in the rear of the truck
45% of the total weight is in the front of the truck.

50% of the total weight is on the left,
and 50% of the total weight is on the right.

FL corner is 1.8125lbs-24% of the truck's total weight
FR corner is 1.5625lbs-21% of the truck's total weight
RL corner is 1.9375lbs-26% of the truck's total weight
RR corner is 2.1875lbs-29% of the truck's total weight

How can I get the RR corner a little lighter? Nothing to move, really. And this weigh in was with a half a tank of gas. Single servo, tekno rc servo mount, cut down receiver box, shaved bumpers, red pushrods.

Hope this helps some people ( don't know how it would though)

How I got this info;

Get a scale, and 3 other objects the same height. Place one wheel on the scale, and other 3 on the objects(mine were cans of pop).

Record what weight that corner was.
Repeat until all 4 corners are weighed.

Add all up to figure total weight.

Divide each corner by the total weight to figure out what % of the weight that corner was. It'll come out as a decimal, but as you SHOULD know, to turn a dec. into a %, you move the decimal 2 places to the right.

Add up the front corners and divide by the total to find front weight %,
or
add up the rear corners and divide by the total to find the rear total weight %.

Add up either side and divide by the total to find out what % of the total weight that side is, and vica versa(sp?)...

Yeah, LMK if this helps any of you. Big Grin
Wow you must be really bored.
Yeah lol..
if you cant remove anything try re arranging it, try using the rustler tank and rearrangin the stuff on the chassis to even out the weight all the way around
Thats pretty sad if you are that bored, you need video games......... I can here ps2 calling my name from here
Won't adjusting spring preloads cause the weight shift changes you are after?
no because even with stiffer springs/preloads there will still be more weight in those section spring tension wont change the actual weight
Yeah, what Czech said! I got the weighing method from traxxas, so it must work lol, just like a tmaxx!
its all physics man, I really hate that class but i have actually learned stuff hahahahah
you could balance using small lead weights. If it is soft lead shave the weight until you reach desired results. Thats what I would do. Btw what type of scale did you use?
It was a kitchen scale-went down to the ounces.
pre loads will change everything... what are you guys smokin?

if you take a little outta the right rear, it will bring the left front closer to 1.5 like the front right.

and make the 2 rears more equaL.
I thought so. I knew I had read about tweak settings for road cars and spring preloads are the last thing done to balance the handling (in motion) to take away torque steer and brake steer.
yea your splittin hairs here... not sure id get my panties in a wad being off road and all... id say dont spend too much time dickin with it. thats pretty close.
slim it will change the handling characteristics, not the amount of weight, you can change the amount of mass somethin has with springs etc..
R2k, are you looking for better handling or better flight characteristics?
You nailed it. You can adjust on the ground handling with spring loads but in the air or jumping attitude will not be affected...
put half turn in left rear and take half out of right rear

FRJ, judging from your avatar you may have too much left rear weight Big Grin j/k I know why the Revo is sideways......
would you like to bet on that mike?
his right rear and left front are both higher, having to much preload on the right rear will push the left front down, hence the slightly higher weight there, same for the right rear... the "tweak" is off.
