I have a VW GTI... 4-cylinder turbo, black, fully loaded with tinted windows. I'll be throwing a carbonio cold air intake on it in the next month or so (I hope) and a new exhaust, lower it an inch and a half, an APR chip, and a carbon fiber hood. That's about all I plan on doing with the exception of the stereo thats already done. Should be pretty quick. Here's a link to show the potential... good times.

THe page with all of the parts

And the page with the videos... Check out the drag strip video...
sorry for all the posts...

I don't know the guy with the TA. I have a friend who has a TA that looks stock and will run 10's or so in the quarter on street tires. It's quick...
I know all about VWs. I used to own an Audi S4. IMO too expensive and hard to make them go fast.
yeah there is a good mix at 75th. Also some nights strats on North ave near RT 83 gets a lot of cars there.
I used to be in woodfield all last year, but too many cops and kids.
I used to reallly be into cars... Now its r/c

But when you spend the money and do it right they are beautiful... For stock it's not bad. I have never lost to the last mustang GT (not the new one... those are fast), a G35, or a 350Z. And those are supposed to be fast...

As for spots... I go to straats every now and then and have even brought my RC's when I've gone to woodfield. I used to go to stratford but now it's illegal as there was too much racing so the cops shut it down. I also show up at 4 corners on 83 (by the white castle) every now and then... I'm still looking for new spots low on cops...
I don't know about beautiful. I would say way too expensive for parts that still don't really make you go that fast.
Ehhh.. yeah streets of Woodfield is High school Fart tip exhaust central.
g35, 350z and mustang gt stock are not that fast. now if they have some work done, then it's a whole different story.
:-( I'm in HS... but I refuse to put any exhaust on my car that isn't just for performance. AKA... no fart tip. Plus I paid for the car myself so I've got that going for me. BTW... it's an '03.

I agree there. lots of money for verry little actual performance in most cases.
My bud has a seriously modded S4 . Still only runs 13.9. I feel bad for him. I think hes go like 5 grand into it

For a stock VW pushing just 6 psi on a low compression 1.8 liter it's not bad. Intake, chip, and exhaust and it gets a lot quicker. I did a chip trial on my car... I raced a car that I was dead even with before... in 1/4 of the distance I already had a 4 car lead. I can't wait to get the chip. :-)
Even the fastest S4 is hitting high 10s, and that's a fully custom engine. Atleast that's what it was a couple years ago when I had mine. European cars are just not made to do 10s, they are more top end.
yeah 350Z's are nothing all that great.. my neighbor got one and stoped by after he took it to the track and ran mid 14's in it. He was actually braging about it being fast until I told him my stock ass A4 Z28 with a 2.73 gear ran a 13.72.
I get pretty good power top end and the thing handles like a cat. It's not a drag car by any means. I wil take you down a curvy street though. It's so easy to drive hard into the turns...
Not sure if you would take ME down a curvy street. You need to put a bigger turbo on the GTI to make some real power.
Isnt it a front driver???? How good could it be?

You'd be surprised... they did a good job engineering that suspension. I have taken several TA's and Camaros as well as some mustangs on curvy streets. It does well.

And bigjs... what do you have??
were they cobras or GT's?
Ive got an EVO.
Yeah they are good handling cars. FWD does not mean it will be a poor handling car by any means. it just means it will impossible to get a good 60' time out of it in a drag race.
Nice. My friend Dave has a really worked STI... I went flying by him at about 100 (he was doing about 55) he dropped it a couple of gears, chirped the AWD and went flying by me like I was standing still. I think Drivers Image did the work... the guy has money. He owns a hair salon...
