BJoe Wrote:OK guys, I mentioned having a Slash only class at Elburn Days to Sharon today, I'd need to talk to Cory or Ken for additional conformation, but usually so long as we have atleast 5 vehicles show up for one class, we'll set the class up for it up!
When is Elburn Days?

Zach hooked me up with a slash...got to love having friends @ shops (although I did still have to pay standard price, but at least I didnt have to try getting there!!!!) It was fun to drive for about 15 mins, just until the esc started flaking out. Although I realy want a spec class, Im not sure I can stand this xl5 pos enough, its got to go!

I cant make it this saturday or next.... Ill try for the 9th. What we should do is agree on a date and all show up.
The XL5 finally started working all on its own, I just have to hit the botton 3 times before it actually comes on... first 2 times the steering servo moves third time the light comes on and its fine. Im going to drop in a brushless setup but keep the stock for spec racing

If theres a good turnout, spec class would be good for me... limited funds but competitive since all the cars are the same cept for batteries.

I still got the BEC lol... Think that might help with the slash's steering? Probably couldn't hurt right?

You don't read much do ya? He put the crawler for sale so time ago on RCC to be able to fund buying his first car! He's got his own (My first car) thread on here in off topic section!

Only the things that interest me...Took me a month before i even looked at a Slash thread.
Back on Topic... What kind of battery selection for a slash class? Anything, roar legal only, NiMH only??? Personally I say any 6 cell NIMH or 2s Lipo of any C or mah. Mainly because all I own anymore are Lipo, I would have to go buy a NiMh or even a Roar legal Lipo. You just cant beat the price of the truerc packs!!! I can get an 8000mah 2s pack from him for $85 and run the slash for an hr, or get a roar legal pack for $99 and run for 20 mins.....

A 7.2-7.4 spec class rule would make sense when paired with stock motors and ESCs. Now if you want an unlimited, let the "boys" swing in the wind class, put the 7-9 cell and/or 3cell w/BL power in that one.

FYI, the track in Bristol is having nice Slash turnouts for their Monday evening races. This Monday starts their six race points series for Slash.
They say an out of the box Slash running 6 cells NiMh or 7.4 LiPo can be competitive with all their racers showing up. Their track is not packed clay like LH indoors. Because of the Bristol soil there's no advantage to swapping out the stock 12 turn in the Slash for another motor.

A bunch of people were asking about LH and Slashes this past weekend at our asphalt races. I'll let them all know this Sunday that you are wanting them to race as a spec class. Sound fun!

Well, we had a couple new faces at the last race in the Slash class...but we also lost a couple of the existing racers. Hopefully next week we'll get everybody to show back up! If that happened...we'd have over 10 guys! Which by the way would make the Slash class the 2nd biggest class at BRC ( possibly THE biggest ) next to Truggy.
