Howdy, first nitro car and all. A friend saved it from the dumpster but decided after a while not to deal with it.
Got it mostly complete. Went over everything, but I'm still missing a few minor pieces like the battery and receiver trays.
But, I got the car to fire over and it ran for a bit, but now it won't fire over again. I'm hearing a rattling from either the 2sp tranny or the clutch bell.
What is the proper method to adjust the clutch? I can't find anything in OFNA OB4 manual PDF's. Also, this is the first nitro car I've ever worked with. Previously only dealt with electrics.
I assume its mostly the same system as nearly all use centrifugal clutch setups. But your tips would be appreciated.

No, it was definitely the clutch. I got it to work now run now. I just have to tune the engine back to factory specs and then start over from there. But its coming along.
Runs so rich that after a while it quits and is a bitch to start again. I tinker with it every couple of days and it gets closer every time.

I dont know what kind of clutch shoes would be in that car. But you could take some sand paper and rough them up a bit so they grab better. IF you do that make sure you clean the clutch bell with denatured alcohol to get the junk out of the inside of it.

I don't, but I think others on the site have. Try posting your question in the engine/ drivetrain section.

that is a horrible motor to answer your question. Every one I've ever seen had problems. Tuning issues mainly.
You get what you pay for most of the time.
