it depends on how it's acting. Does the truck start out slow and then take off fast or visa versa? How does the smoke look? smokes when you first pull the trigger or smokes 2-3 seconds after you pull it?

ok today it was 45 degrees out so i was driving my truck. the only thing is it keeps reving up like I said before. I go to let it idle and the engine revs up so I richened the low speed and opened up the idle gap and it kepps on revving up. I had the low speed so rich that as soon as I le off the throttle it would die. Im not sure what is going on so any help would be appreciated. thanks

why did you open the idle when it was already revving too high? That makes it rev higher
lean the LSN back out and close the idle some

ill have to try that but the reason I opened up the idle is because when I would go to let off the throttle it would die but ill try it when I get back home.

well I figured it out as I was looking at my carb. I noticed that there was an itty bitty hole on the outside so im guessing that that air leak caused it to rev up high and then die. hopefully that was the problem. but if it wasnt oh well that carb is ruined, I was putting it back together and that stupid @$$ carb cracked in half. man I hat those carbs. anyways thanks for all your help guys.

never mind it wasnt the carb. do'h!! well I was driving it and it was really rich on the low end to where it was taking off very slowly and then when I would go to let it idle it would die after about 5 seconds so the idle wasnt to high so its not a tuning issue. I think my fuel line has a hole in it because that yellow thing that goes around the fuel line to protect it from burning on the cooling head was soaked with fuel. also when I moved that yellow thing it was all oily under that also. so im thinking that is it. oh well ill have to wait to get new fuel lines but until then if anyone has any ideas what could be wrong please post.

k guys I just took it out in the snow and its 15 degrees outside so I drove it and it is still reving and the low speed wasnt to lean because it took 2-3 seconds for it to finally take off.
but I was just wondering will it rev up if there is a small crack in the fuel tank that leaks very little and possibly a hole in the fuel lines?
thanks, traxxas thrasher

if he has a little slit in the fuel line or something like that a hole somewhere that will cause to much air to get into the mixture and not enough fuel which will make it rev high, this is kind of obvious but did u check your throttle trim on the remote?

allright i took my truck out and was doing burnouts and stuff and then it started to rev up again. could it be because it is slick outside?

well the clutch is new and its not sticking. and I think I know what your saying ant thats probably true because that fuel takes longer to reach the carb and it slowly reaches the carb which leans it out and it wont hold a tune for to long. also im doing WOT on burnouts and the wheels get like a 1/2 an inch wide and it takes me a while to get it to slow down. also it doesn't help when the brakes are frozen and dont stop the truck
but once leisures opens i'll test it out.
thanks, traxxas thrasher

o, i was talking to nitrosmoker on AIM and i was telling him that i just blew both of my 2.5s in like an hour of eachother and one of them i landed bad and ripped 2 cooling head screws off, so kind of an inside joke

depends on what plug u use, the weather should not affect the life of a glow plug, mostly tune and motor temp, so i would say no
