Had to share these pictures. I lined these up, just to show how crazy Large stuff can get. I remember when my T-Maxx was big. This is my MCD in the center. Bosses Maxx & 1/4 scale Monster. It's finally ready to drive. & A paint job away from, One of the most awesome R/C's ever ! It's an Old NewEra truck, Not many left anymore.

You know all that large scale stuff is cool and all...but I've never seen them be able to jump like Truggys and Buggys...So I think racing them would be kinda boring...

You'd have to beef them up alot with some serious aluminum or heavy duty plastics. But by the time you do that, they'd be too heavy to move fast enough to jump like you want them too. So you'd need a bigger engine....etc.... The larger you go, the slower it gets for the most part. Which also means it handles more and more like a 1:1 scale, which in my eyes is the point of them.

Ever seen a MCD 4x4 MT do a run away? I have, VERY scary. 50lb machine at 40mph or more, and its outta control. Hit my jammin buggy, but only clipped it and that clip was enough to snap the rear wheel in half, lucky me that he didn't hit me head on. The guy had a fail safe, and a TRS, but its was a freak accident. No idea why. Scared him pretty bad, if it had hit a person it would have been serious.

I wouldnt want something that costs like 1500 bucks to run away. Im not about it handling like a real car...when I stop on the drivers stand, I feel like im playing that 'super offroad' arcade game. And thats B.A. I like the jumping but that's just me. if I wanted to make a 1.5th scale fly I'd have to spend another 1000 bucks to beef it up and get a better engine. Def not a good investment for me at least I think. But thats just my opinion, they are cool, the fuel is dirt cheap, and they are tough. But one mans treasure is another mans junk? Smile

I would say 1/5 scale racing is more like real life racing for sure. I don't know if you ever watched like a real Baja desert race, but they are going across some crazy terrain. I don't have to jump real high. These things will run plenty fast without getting crazy. But you can do that too ! My MCD would be around 1000$ more than the 1500$ talked about, so a run away is a very scary thing. There is a new 3rd channel switch you can put on that Kills the engine when activated. Mine will be on by Monday. Don't get me wrong a complete radio failure & there could be Very Serious problems !! I make sure anyone around me running it always keeps their eyes on it. If not they need the get away to a safe place.
