Our favorite was to cover the doorway from the outside like you did with tape, only with sheets of newspaper. Then, stack the hallway trash cans just a foot away. The natural human reaction to a wall of paper is........you got it......go run thru it!! Then they find the wall of cans waiting for them.

Nice. LoL We did Saran wrap too. That worked allright. Stretched quite a bit surprisingly enough.
