Best Bang for the Buck....

How is the 8IGHT RTR compared to the kit? What are the major differences because ther is only a $30 price difference from Al's. what I am thinking of doing is picking up that Hyper 7 and racing that for a while. Like I said, it will be mostly my driving holding me back for now anyway. Then, maybe next spring or after Christmas I can look at picking up an 8IGHT or the new AE buggy. What do you guys think??

To me it looks like the shock towers are thinner and different, but it might just be the pics.

Really?? Is this one of the first cases of the kit being identical to the RTR?? I like that it comes with spektrum too..... Though I'm sure the motor and servos are not the greatest.

motor is solid but it's a .28 in a buggy, come on....

Dan if you race a hyper7 then you WILL be held back by the buggy, you drive decent for the amout of track time you've had. Don't do that to yourself man.
That's like me racing a stock savage instead of a modded revo...literally that is the difference.....one is a tank and one is agile and athletic

if you choose tank, so be it. Like I said if your not going to race that often then I'd pick up the hyper7.

trust me, I want newguy to sell his buggy if he doesn't want it but I also don't want to see people spending a couple hundred dollars then struggling, frustrated on the track because they bought something that is by no means a race buggy.

I don't know. What I think I may do now is pick up the Hyper 7. I can mess around with it at U of I and race it over Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks. Then.... I can pick up an 8IGHT kit or new AE buggy kit sometime early next year. Then I can switch everything over (or buy some parts new) and have a dedicated race buggy for the summer. For what is being offered to me I would be stupid to not pick it up. After knowing the 2 previous owners and how they take care of their stuff.... this Hyper 7 is probably in the best shape it can be in.

Well, It seems like everyone is trying to steer Dan from picking up my buggy. I don't know why people tell me I got a great deal on a decent buggy, then turn around and tell someone else it is a bad choice, when I am offering him the same deal, with a few extras added in.

Either way Dan, Let me know ASAP what you want to do. If you want to stick with the original plans, great. If not, Oh well.

Dan, did you get my PM? I am not sure if I deleted it in my sent PM's or if it didn't send at all.

A few posts up I said I still plan on picking up that Hyper 7. It is a great deal on a solid buggy. I can run it around U of I and race it over Thanksgiving and Christmas break. It is more than enough bugy for now. THEN..... come early next year I can look into a full on race buggy to swap some stuff over too. So.... I still think I will pick it up. I know the two most recent owners and have seen it first hand. It is flawless.

Ok, Thanks. It just pissed me off that when people saw it before, they told me how good of a deal it was, then talk trash about it when I offer the same deal to someone else.

I hope your not talking about me because I CLEARLY stated it's a great deal if your going to mess around or race every now and then. That is not trash talk my friend. Sorry if you took it as that.
But to race a Hyper 7 and think your going to do well with it? no way. I just don't want to see Dan frustrated on the track because he bought a buggy that is like 6 years old.
That's not trash talk, thats fact. Frustration is what makes people quit this hobby.
