Can someone explaing this amperage thing?
#1
ok, I'm admittedly electronically retarded... but, with that said...

everyone has always explained that amperage is like a water hose, 2 amps being the hose in our backyard, 6 amps being a fire hose... I can understand this...

and with this thought, wouldn't a 6 amp charger charge faster than the 2 amp charger? It makes sense to me that the garden hose wouldn't fill the pool as fast as the firehose...

I spoke with my brother (who does understand electricity (I THINK)) who says my reasoning isn't right.. now I'm entirely confused.. can someone help me?

If you charge a battery at 6 amp. It will charge faster then if you charge at 2. But the run time of the 6 amp charge is less then a charge at 2.

the longer a battery takes to charge, the longer it will take to discharge. It will charge right away at 6 amps and prolly give you more kick but it wont last very long at all where as with 2 amsp it may take 30 minutes to charge but it will prolly last an hour or so

Depends on what kind of batts your talking about, RX packs, or sub C's.

But, like mentioned the higher the amps are when charging the faster it charges, so you water hose theory is correct to a point.
