Yep...all "positive" comments about LHR here...negative discussion about LHR is requested to be directed to LHR directly, per the decision of the owner and mods here.

I see.

quick question then:

Hypothetically if I go to the track and race and get back home and get on line and want to say "today's traction was horrible", I shouldn't do it on this website in the LHR forum or any other forum here?

I'm done. They aren't my rules.
You know what they don't want posted about LHR as well as I do.

Dave..no it's not clear to me what is appropriate and what's inappropriate based on your comments

I'm reading the rules now here:

There seems to be six rules and then comments about expected behavior.

Tex - Gabe Guild
cemeb4dk - George Schuth
snakebite - Rich Styrczula
Rocco - Rocco Zoccolli
Mr. Tune - John Dimo

We all race at LH and many other tracks. We would love to hear any feedback you have to (in your opinion) better this site.

i think your missing everyone elses point, i know what you are saying, but you have to remember this place is not run by you or I and if i had a problem with something was run here i would bring it up once.... then based on what answer i get, i would either come up with a possible solution (doesnt gaurantee the solution will be used) or i would just live with it, or i would just go post somewhere else. I wouldnt keep beating the dead horse over and over again.

others are making comments....I see that as a sign they want to dialogue.

Am I wrong?

FWIW, I just sent a few of the moderators a suggestion about the rules URL.

I think emenem said it well. "this place would be so empty without me". I apologize if I make a few of you think and question the status norm. And while you might not always appreciate my delivery, my truth cannot be denied...

There are problems here. Things that must be addressed. Muckracker? Ok, it's a title I'll gladly accept. The founding fathers of this country were once thought of in the same light. And while these issues are certainly not of that caliber I say this, "Guess what boys, you're mama wasn't right, even if you don't have something nice to say you should say it!"

Example: I'll use your low traction comment....

Acceptable:

You: Traction sucked today at LHR. I couldn't hook up like I used to. What's up?

Everyone else begins a discusion on why traction sucked. Maybe the sprinklers weren't working or something, so a tire and setup change was in order. Maybe you need to do this or that. Maybe, etc etc etc.

Unacceptable:

You: LHR needs to fixe the freaking potholes. Traction was terrible, I was flipping over on my lid all day, etc etc etc.

Some will tell you to take that up with management. Some will tell you to drive around the potholes. Some will... etc etc etc

Stuff like this always ends in a bashing and bitching session. It is usually finished off by getting locked or edited posts.

See my point? There is a big difference with those senarios. One will get ya help and advise and other is an attack on LHR and will get you flamed. We don't want people attacking LHR on this site. We do not run the place. I do believe we have influence on attendence. Those possibly interested in racing can be turned off by reading nothing but complaints on boards like this. I do not want this site causing that. I like having a local track around.

Let's not start a flame war guys. Let's keep this thread constructive. To be clear, this goes out to more than one person...

im sorry bruce your right i shouldnt call you names, but i can't help it , if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck ..... you get the picture i just can't figure out why you put yourself through this kind of stuff , heres some positive critism then, you ever heard the term everything in moderation? theres nothing wrong with complaining if something is jacked up every now and then, but when you do it all the time then people dont see what you write, and stop taking you seriously and just start using as the but of jokes then you start to get angry and frustrated till it comes to a head sound familar?

Joey, I can appreciate that you "don't understand why (I) put myself through this kind of stuff". But then again the eternal words of Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies comes to mind, "just be you don't understand what's going on don't mean it don't make no sense. And even though you don't like it don't mean it ain't no good..."

I'm willing to take criticism because I actually care very much that LH becomes what we were promised, "The premier track in the Midwest." And as a paying customer I expect it in a timely manner. This is a relatively expensive hobby for many and I believe I am only fighting to get what we were promised. And I do this for you all even though you oppose my methods. If I didn't care I'd say nothing. It's really that simple.

that only works when you get people to agree with what you are saying, if you come across to harshly it seems to everyone that you are just bashing the place and not trying to be productive.

I'm definately trying to be productive. It's just no matter what I say or how I say it I'm attacked. I can handle it though.

Really, I would like it better if you guys have a problem to come and see me. I may be a pig headed old fart. But I'll listen to what you have to say. well maybe

Bernie.... I stopped by the track on Sunday before my little crash across the street. I know it was a small turnout that day but the track looked great. I love the sprinklers, everything. It looks amazing. I think I am even getting back into the game. I think the thing is that when people race on a flawless indoor track they find every fault with a very good outdoor track. I say keep up the good work and unless people are man enough to talk to you in person about it then you shouldn't even worry about it. You know the guys who appreciate your work and I'm sure you get enough feedback from them. For as young as this track is I am amazed at how well it is doing. Thank you again for the hard work and keep it up.

If you don't like it, don't race it. If you aren't out there helping, don't complain. Take a step back and look at what has been accomplished. I think it is absolutely pathetic the way you are slamming down everyones hard work. If you have questions or reccomendations, talk to him directly. I (along with many others) do not need to see your sad attempt at putting Bernie in his place. Grow up already.

How did Bruce get the idea that any promises were made about anything to do with the track?

Me and the boys had been going to the old place for years on Brian Drive, very regularly then when it closed I followed the LHR forum to keep up to date. I don't remember any promises made about completion ETA, or features and facilities. The hobbyshop never made promises either about the track.

Maybe Bruce's post about "promises made" was just off his cuff and not well thought out?
