revo extended chassis
#1
ok well the guy I got my revo extended chassis from is debating about not making anymore extended chassis's for the revo but im trying to convince him to keep making them. The reason for this thread is to help get him some business so he can keep making his chassis's. My question to you people is how many local people from this board would be interested in purchasing an AK Racing revo extended chassis?

The welds are on both the top and bottom of the chassis for unbeleivable strength. He's so confident in this chassis he dared me to try and snap the chassis anyway i could possibly think of. Anyone that has seen me bash my truck at berwyn knows how hard I bashed this chassis and tried to break it, but the chassis fought back and ended up not even having a scratch on it. Welds were 100% unaffected.

This chassis is definatly a must for those who are looking to get into racing. It makes handling rough parts on the track a peice of cake for anyone. You basically just float over everything while the truck stays level. Jumping is so much easier, it just floats through the air with little to no throttle control needed so fly level.

This chassis will come with a 1 year warrenty against any breaking or cracks around the welded area. The welds will virtually be not visible but of course nothing like that can be 100% garuntee'd. He can make custom lengths up to an inch and a quarter long for an extra 5 dollars otherwise standard length is a full inch extension. It will not come anodized and the price for a standard extended chassis will be $130 shipped and with a custom length made $135 shipped.

This definatly is a very good upgrade if are getting into racing or just want to help control those powerfull big blocks. If you are seriously interested in purchasing one start a list and hopefully we can get a good number here and keep this product available to buy.

Now if I am running a .21 with an 1/8 scale clutch and have the trans moved up already... what will I need to do with the extended chassis?? Would I need to mod it the same way to move the trans up but then use a rear drive axle up front so that it is long enough?? (Since it is extended in front...)

well depending on how your motor is setup you might need to move the trans. Your just gonna copy the setup now on your chassis onto this one. Only thing you need to purchase is the rear transmission driveshaft and use that upfront and your good to go.

I got the same chassis as michowski in my revo. It's an excellent chassis. Huge improvement in stability, jumping, handling over stock!

What's the advantage of using a $130.00 1" extended chasis compared to the $13.00 Traxxas 3/4" adjustable arms? I imagine the chasis is much stronger than the plastic arms, but is it worth the extra $$.

Blown makes a good point. I've already got a Vantage chassis so why switch out chassis when I can just get extended arms?

well for one the chassis wont break and cause you to lose a race. I have no idea how the arms affect the truck on a stock chassis but i do know the extended chassis got me faster laps times and really made driving my truck a lot easier on the track.

Well you can get the ballistic for 150 and not have a warrenty on the weld, only stuck with one custom length, and have a much weaker chassis. This is the cheapest extended chassis out and the highest quality one so its your choice. This wont break or fail in any way.

The extension is in the front, just ahead of the towers so everything else from that point back is in the stock location. You would have to mod that chassis in the same way to run the 1/8th scale clutch.

Nope. 3Racing makes a cheaper one;

I did however vote for him to keep making them. If I had the cash I'd rather get that one over the 3Racing one.

To bad that chassis will only last at most of 2 tanks. I havent heard of anyone who races or bashes who has gotten anymore then that amount of runtime before it was all cracked up and bent. Save your money. If you want to spend 60 bucks give it to me and il destroy your truck in one tank. Same effect in the end.

you cant even call that an extended chassis. It only works for one tank maybe 2 before its history. Its company's like that who give aftermarket a bad name and also hurt the truck's reputation with there horrible products.

I beleive in paying a little extra for a product that you know your getting good workmanship and supporting a guy stands behind his work. Even though I don't have a Revo yet I voted YES for the guy to keep making them.

Ryan, approx. what does it cost to get the chassis anodized?

well it really depends on were you go. I know RD Racing can anodize a bunch of parts on your truck for 50 bucks but thats kind of expensive for just a chassis. I have heard of other places that can anodize parts for as little as 20 dollars but not sure about who they are.

That's not too bad of a price. Did all the parts already have to be silver, or could they be different colors and they strip them down and then ano too?

didnt matter, he sand blasted everything clean prior to anodizing.
