Al's Hobby Shop
#26
Yeah... I end up talking to a lot of people as well. Great to get new people to the forum too. LoL I don't mind waiting. I think it helps keep theft down too... and thus prices.

I only go there during my lunch while I'm at work and I'm typically in a hurry... and they are always busy during lunch hours.

I love how willing they are to order parts for you with or without a down payment or anything. I ordered my CVD's but didn't have the money as I hadn't gotten paid yet... no problem. Somehow when I picked them up I left with about $40 in hex drivers too. LoL

Yes, I picked up the Mach 427 there on 2.19.06. One of the best stocked hobbies shopes I've been in. Sorry for the late response. I haven't been able to surff as much lately. Smile

Al's is my LHS seeing that they are in my town. They have recently expanded to their left. Previous years back they expended to the right of them(which is now the airplane section), I am glad to see them expanded cause it shows that our hobby is definately gaining alot of intrest. I havent been in there since they expanded, but I think they put in a slot car track. They are definately great with services and ordering. Freeridejunkie, the same thing happened to me. They had just solder up a battery pack for me, and when I went an picked it up, I paid, and as I got in the car, I notices a bunch of other stuff in the bag. Lol, wierd.

If anyone knows specificaly what they added let me know.

Thanks,
Joe

If you had them solder a pack they probably used nicer battery bars and everything. They do great work... (I don't like the guy that works cars now but is from planes. He is an ass and always talks down about whatever you have saying that they are not as good as his planes. Heck he talked down about my 1:1 car because he has a VW sponsored race one... I really don't care or value his opinion anymore. Oh... and a comment about the LSP being a bad looking truck for the track finished it off...)

Hmmm... I don't know what to say.

Mike I can't remember his name. I know he doesn't drive the "race" one because it isn't street legal. I think he drives another one though... He pissed me off when he saw my worn servo horn (which I was there to get a new aluminum one) and told me that all of us car guys are idiots and how coud we run our stuff like that. I wanted to say that all of "us idiots" pay his sallery... I'm real close to having a little talk with chip or alvin...

Why kid max? I can't tolerate retail people who offer opinions or think their all that, without being asked for an opinion. I guess its a pet peeve of mine. Talk to the owner or supervisor and let em know, dude is outta line!

I should have last time. The next time he says something I will be. He is the only person I have ever had a problem with at Al's and I will go out of my way to not deal with him. I am glad he is a plane guy and I don't need to deal with him normally....

the one time he was at the r/c counter that I saw, he was a real ass, I asked for some part, and he didn't know where it was, then when he found it was in one of the bins, he was annoyed, and after he finally found it, he is like, there happy now.
My R/C's:
T-maxx 2.5-front rpm a-arms, front/rear alluminum skids, pull-start, ofna failsafe, 5 cell hump pack

xmod Silver Acura RSX-has green underglow lights, and blue LED exhaust, and body kit.-My parts car(as it is broke, and too lazy to buy part to fix it)

should have seen my full SM/JT Sad , but I figure if I want to get back in the racing scene, go BIG. Looking at the Nova Rex r528XRP 8-port to drop in that badboy and go nuts or a C5 to stay out of the Unlimited class for a bit. I just dont like having to bump start the truck all the time, I am more the pullstart/rotostart kinda guy, but I will have to see.
