Transponder System schematics ??
#1
Hello Everyone,

I got lucky this year and Santa brought me an AMB Transponder !

I have been searching the web for any schematics or plans for making your own Decoder that you could use during practice, no luck so far.

I priced the system on AMB's site and looks likes its about $2200. A little high.

I found this site on the web http://www.rctiming.com/timing_systems.shtml
Looks like the software is free and I sent them an email with this question also, no response as of yet.

I know about the Spektrum lap counting module, I guess if you wanted to it would work ok.

If anybody knows of any other solution could you please let me know?

Thanks

The stopwatch function on your iPod, along with a helper to run it. It captures lap times and total time, until you clear it. Handy!

My M11 has a built in timer system Smile. The button for it is right under the trigger, so I use my middle finger to push it every time the truck passes by me on the track. Not the most accurate, but it gives me a rough estimate on time per lap, total time run and laps Smile.

Got a response from rctiming.com

Quote:Sorry there are no plans for a decoder, if there were it wouldn't be just one company that produces them. Wish you luck with developing your own decoder.

man you actually theoght they would give how they were made? AMB is the only lap timing system used in many forms of racing. They have a total Monopoly on the market and a bending people over and robing them blind with the prices they are charging for their stuff now. a few years back Transponders were $50-60 now the EXACT same transponder is almost $100.
