Why does a 3 speed savage go faster than a 2 speed savage with the same motor?
Unlike my Dakota R/T, at 140mph it just quit pulling even though I still had 500rpm left to go till redline, thats when the aerodynamics came into play and the engine didnt have the power to push it to redline
.....but if I had another gear to get my engine back into its power band around 3000 -4500rpm, who knows how much faster it could have gone.
Its just that around 4800rpm the power started to drop off and combined with the aero drag, it didnt have the power to go faster.
So....again....it has to do with many variables
