While cyclone and typhoons were fast, as well as the GN/GNX/TTA, I'm afraid to say that the ZR1 really was king of the hill.
* 100 Miles at 175.600mph
* 500 Miles at 175.503mph
* 1000 Miles at 174.428mph
* 5000 Kilometeres at 175.710mph (World Record)
* 5000 Miles at 173.791mph (World Record)
* 12 Hours Endurance at 175.523mph
* 24 Hours Endurance at 175.885mph for 4,221.256 Miles (World Record)
The engine pushed the vette to 175mph for a over 4,000 miles!
1/4 mile wise, the ZR-1 in stock trim was faster than any other GM in stock trim. Trap speeds over 110mph in the 1/4 being common. However the 3.8L, and 4.3L turbo cars could easily be made to beat a ZR-1 with minimal mods, under $500 total in most cases. Race gas, manual boost control, deleting the cat and you have a low 13, high 12 second car with minimal effort.
